Chapter 31: Adrenaline Junkie

A knock could be heard from Brandon Mars's apartment. He wondered who it could be since he wasn't expecting anyone. When he opened the door he was met with a smile, the smile was beaming from Irebella. Brandon invited her in and told her Elaine was just around the corner in the living room holding baby Jude in her hands. Elaine noticed Irebella and they all took a seat. Jude was asleep in his mother's hands, sleeping sound on the other hand Elaine and Brandon wondered what the unannounced visit was for so that's when Brandon started to question Irebella.

(( Brandon, Irebella and Elaine's POV ))

Brandon noticed that Irebella's expression was unsteady wondering what could have happened. " Irebella lovely to see you, and Elaine wondered what the sudden visit was and why you don't have Alexander with you. It's a bit strange considering you never leave his side. " Elaine would nod confused as well. Irebella would sigh, " Well. Alexander was not here because when he and I drove back from his mother's home during the trip he started acting manic- Elaine gulped and Brandon looked at Elaine with a concerned look knowing exactly what Irebella meant.

Brandon sighed cutting Irebella off before she could get another word in. " Was he acting like he had two different personalities.? " Irebella would nod. " That's exactly what happened beforehand his mother and he were arguing over some stuff but earlier before the argument, he went surfing in the surge and then came back a different person. "

Brandon would know exactly what happened. " Irebella you said he surfed the surge correct meaning he was surfing in a storm. What you have just experienced is Alexander having a sudden rush of adrenaline. "

Irebella would raise an eyebrow confused, "Whatever do you mean? How does adrenaline come into this? " Elaine would interrupt Brandon before he could reply. " Adrenaline is what Alexander used to live off when he was a teenager. No matter where he was, who he was with or the situation he always found it thrilling. " Irebella would sigh. " So you're saying he's done this before then. "

Brandon would nod. " Elaine do you want to explain? " Elaine would shake her head, " No Thankyou. You word it better after all you've known him for longer. "

Brandon nodded. " Irebella.. there's something you need to know about Alexander, when he was growing up he experienced a lot of neglect from his mother and abuse from his father, whenever he came to primary school in the mornings I noticed he would have a new bruise on him however he played it off and always said he was doing some crazy stunt acting if it was nothing. When Alexander started high school in year 7 he started hanging more around older kids who were always getting in trouble, smoking at the back sheds at recess and lunch and lastly they would pull crazy stunts for that rush of adrenaline. "

Elaine would sigh Irebella would be confused alert of what happened but wondering if there was more to the story. Brandon would then continue with what he was saying from beforehand. " Those crazy stunts ended with Alexander becoming more and more troublesome creating more than one reason for his addiction to adrenaline. It all started with the simple cliff jumping into the ocean, then it went to motorcycle riding at crazy speeds, then it went to jumping fences and trespassing and lastly the stunt that landed him with a criminal charge was when he was found caught up in a massive substance bust, he ran from the cops from one side of town to the other and ended up trying to jump an electric fence but didn't realise it was on and he ended up electrocuting himself, soon after he was caught and put into a holding cell. If it wasn't for my parents convincing the police to reason with the judge then he would have had to serve time in juvie. "

Irebella would gasp. " What?! Alexander's a convinced criminal" Elaine would interrupt her, " Yes and no. He got charged for it and it's on his record but he never served the jail time instead did community service. " Irebella would still be dumb founded, questioning every single thing Brandon had just confessed to her. On the other hand Brandon would look at Elaine with a serious look, Irebella would pass out from all the thoughts going on in her mind, she was okay but still asleep. Elaine and Brandon would talk in the kitchen alone.
