The morning sunlight streamed through the grand windows of the Seventeen mansion, casting warm golden rays across the opulent corridors. The guards at their stations stood tall and alert, their polished uniforms gleaming in the sunlight. Meanwhile, the maids were tirelessly going about their duties, their movements swift and efficient as they dusted and cleaned the luxurious rooms. Despite the early hour, the mansion was already bustling with activity.
Seungkwan was enjoying his morning cup of iced Americano, sitting on the soft, comfortable sofa in his living room. He was scrolling through the latest news on his phone, his coffee in one hand and his phone in the other. He took a small sip of his beverage, relishing the taste of the strong blend of espresso and cold water. He scanned the headlines, his eyes pausing briefly to read the more interesting stories.
Seungkwan's eyes widened in surprise and he sputtered on his drink, nearly spitting it out. He saw Jun taking hold of Yn's hand and leading her down the grand staircase.
The sight was one that Seungkwan had never seen before. Jun's usually sharp and piercing eyes held a softness that was almost foreign on his face. It was as if they had the power to light up a room or make a flower bloom. Seungkwan was taken aback by the unexpected tenderness in Jun's demeanor.
Yn smiled, feeling a sense of warmth and security as Jun led her down the staircase by the hand. They came to a halt at the foot of the stairs, and Jun greeted Seungkwan with an unusual smile.
"Good morning, Kwanie," Jun said cheerfully.
Seungkwan was left completely stunned. Jun rarely ever greeted anyone with civility, so this unexpected display of friendliness was like seeing unicorn in the middle of shopping mall, a rare and unexpected event that left Seungkwan reeling.
Jun led Yn towards the dining room, his hand still gently holding hers. Minghao, who was in the middle of taking a sip of water, suddenly sputtered in shock and sprayed water all over Mingyu, who was sitting next to him playing a game on his phone.
Mingyu was about to start shouting, but his words died in his throat as his eyes followed Minghao's gaze. The scene he saw was so unexpected that his phone slipped from his hands, and he remained frozen, still staring at Jun and Yn. Jun pulled out a chair for Yn with almost practiced gallantry, as if they were a couple
Mingyu, still dumbfounded by the sight before him, manage to choke out a single question.
"Is he alright?" he asked, his voice cracking slightly in shock.
Minghao remained completely silent, still trying to process what he was seeing. The sight of Jun, who was usually so aloof and reserved, acting like some kind of chivalrous knight for Yn was just too much for them both to handle.
Even Mingyu's phone, which he had dropped in his astonishment, now lay forgotten on the table.
Jun turned to face Yn, his eyes shimmering with affection. He smiled at her warmly, and spoke in a gentle tone.
"What do you want to eat?" he asked. "Just name it, and I will make sure I will get it for you."
Yn felt her heart flutter at the genuine concern and care in Jun's voice. She glanced at him for a moment, her gaze lingering on his soft expression before she finally spoke.
"Actually, could I have some waffles?" she asked.
Jun's smile seemed to grow even wider, clearly pleased by her request.
"Of course," he replied, his tone firm and confident. "I'll get you the best waffles right away."
Yn smiled back at him, feeling a rush of gratitude for his thoughtfulness. Meanwhile, Minghao and Mingyu were both still sitting at the table, their jaws hanging open in shock as they watched the interaction between Jun and Yn.
Dokyeom entered the kitchen, his cheerful singing coming to an abrupt halt as he caught sight of Yn eating waffles and Jun, rambling on excitedly like some kind of school girl.
For a moment, Dokyeom thought he was dreaming. He pinched himself, just to make sure that what he was seeing was real. But the sharp pain in his arm told him that he was very much awake. He watched the two of them for another moment, completely dumbfounded.
