As she reached the front door she grabbed her backpack from the floor and swung it over her shoulder, being the last to leave she grabbed the door handle to shut the door. When she did so she noticed Wes stood at the end of the corridor giving her a friendly wave.
It was odd how quickly she forgot her frustrations towards the older man, she didn't have it in her to be angry at him for what he had done. He was desperately and seemily scared enough to go to such lengths to try and break the supposed curse.
From what she had gathered Chandler was the one pulling the strings, he reminded her of her mother. She had only spent half an hour with the man but could identify so many similarities and shared traits.
Saylor waved back at the old man with a simile on her face, she was a sucker for old people especially old people who she thought were being manipulated or taken advantage of because clearly that's what was going on.
Chandler wanted the amulet and it was evident to Saylor seen as he hid a camera in her house he would go to lengths to find it. Even if that meant tricking his father in law into believing the piece of jewellery would save his life by breaking the curse.
Closing the door behind her the Pogues were slightly ahead as they made their way to their boat but Cleo hung back a bit to wait for the blonde girl. "Thanks for dragging me into that mess." Saylor gave her an unimpressed look but it was lighthearted and they both knew that.
"I just knew how desperately you wanted to be in there." Cleo knocked her shoulder into the Routledge girls as they walked side by side. "You were practically begging me to bring you with me."
Saylor shook her head with a smile whilst adjusting the bag on her back. She was beyond glad that Cleo was there to break some of the tension, not that the pogues knew of their growing friendship.
Out of the corner of her eye the blonde girl caught glimpse of something reflecting light seemingly in a way that felt like it was purposely trying to get her attention. When she turned her head to see what it was she saw Demp stood next to a bush by the dock. "I'll meet you on the boat, I'll be two seconds."
"Two seconds." Cleo warned letting her know anything longer and she would go and find her. The curly haired girl only let her go because she knew who and where Saylor was going to.
Saylor reached Demp and he stepped further back into the bush as if he was trying to make himself as invisible as possible. "You need to be careful." His eyes searched around consistently checking his surroundings as he delivered his warning.
The blonde girl took in a deep breath, between her interaction with Chandler and Demps warning it dawned on her just how dangerous of a situation she could be in. "I don't trust him." They both knew which of the Genrette men she was talking about.
