[FRAMED!AU] Back on the Horse (Rainbowshell)

A/N: Goddd I love this ship sm their so sillyyy anyways at the time off writing this (Jan 21st 10:30am) we should be getting wifi back within 4 hours :D This takes place before Arthur's return! Fun fact: This was gonna be Petalpawncraft until I realized how much easier and funner this would be to write with Rainbowshell. Also keep in mind no Dandy Ships are canon in this AU specifically so I can ship Dandy with everyone >:3 anyways uuuhhh enjoy!!))

Dandy groaned. Poppy was currently holding his wrist dragging him towards a party "Come on! I promise you this'll be fun!"

Dandy's petals pinned back "What's the point of me going? No one's gonna want to dance with me."

As Poppy dragged him into the room, Dandy squinted his eyes. Flashing pink, red, blue and purple lights borderline blinded him.

"Dandy you can't just be sad forever and never even try meeting anyone else. It was Astros loss! You need to get back on the Horse!"

Dandy glanced across the room. Astro was dancing with Vee. They were giggling and looked like they were having plenty of fun.

Dandy sighed. "I don't believe that."

20 minutes in Poppy had been swept off to the dance floor by Looey. At least they were having fun.

Dandy felt a bit bad for being bitter over them dancing. Honestly he would've left the moment Poppy let go of his wrist if not for the alcohol.

The Toons hosting parties had become more and more common over the years. It was a way of having fun and forgetting about the overlooming dread.

They rarely had Booze though. Since usually Toodles was invited. But this party was taking place past her bedtime.

"Hey." Dandy flinched a bit. Looking beside him, he saw Shelly. One of few Toons who really trusted him. And she was one of few Toons he trusted.

"Oh, hey. I didn't think you'd show up." Shelly chuckled "Yeah, I wasn't going too but I figured it'd be nice to be somewhere more social since me and Vee..."

She sighed "Sorry... Sorry... Didn't mean to make things sad." Dandy smiled at her "Don't worry about it, I'm here cause Poppy dragged me. She said I should find someone new after Astro."

Shelly tilted her head. "Who would you even find...? Like nearly all the Toons here..." Shelly tried to think of a good way to word it.

"Hate my guts?" Shelly looked over at Dandy. She hadn't even realized she wasn't looking at him. She was looking at her hands.

"...Yeah... Sorry..." Dandy chuckled. "Don't be. Not like you said anything that's not right."

The 2 sat in silence for a while. Only occasionally broken up by the sound of sipping on alcohol.

"Hey." Dandy glanced over at Shelly. "Hmm?" "Would you... Like to dance?"

Dandy looked over at her. His tail sticking straight up. And his green blush getting slightly darker "Huh?"

Shelly smiled. "Yeah, neither of us have anyone else to dance with, it could be fun!"

Dandy thought for a second. Mostly about the chances of Shelly possibly asking him out of pity.

But he could see the thin line of brown blush across her face. "Yeah... Sure...!"

Shelly stood up. Taking Dandy's hand and leading him to the dance floor.

Dandy murmured to her. His face a deepening shade of Green "I- I should warn you I have no idea how to dance... I got no rhythm."

Shelly put one hand on his shoulder and one hand around his waist. "You'll be fine. Follow my lead."
