The morning sun bathed the room in soft light, warming the crisp white sheets that covered Khao and First. Khao stirred first, blinking against the brightness before turning his head to see First lying beside him, still deep in sleep. His heart swelled as he watched the man he loved, peaceful and unguarded in the quiet intimacy of the moment.

Khao shifted closer, gently tracing his fingers along First’s jawline. The slight movement caused First’s eyes to flutter open, a drowsy smile spreading across his face as their gazes met.

“Morning,” First murmured, his voice gravelly with sleep.

“Morning,” Khao replied, his smile matching First’s. “Sleep well?”

“Best sleep I’ve had in a while,” First said with a soft laugh, stretching his arms before wrapping one around Khao’s waist. “Waking up next to you... it feels right.”

Khao snuggled closer, his head resting against First’s chest. “It does. I missed this. Us.”

First pressed a kiss to Khao’s hair, holding him tighter. “Me too, babe. And I don’t want to miss it anymore. Which is why...” He hesitated for a moment, then pulled back slightly to look Khao in the eyes. “Move back in with me. For real this time.”

Khao blinked, his breath catching at the unexpected request. “You want me to move back in? As...?”

“As my boyfriend. No pretenses, no hiding,” First said firmly. “I want us to start fresh, together. The way it should have been all along.”

Khao searched First’s face, his heart pounding. “Are you sure? After everything that’s happened... I don’t want to make things harder for you. Or for us.”

“I’ve never been more sure,” First said, his tone unwavering. “We’ve already been through the worst, Khao. I know it won’t be easy, especially with our friends. But I don’t want to live without you.”

Khao felt a lump rise in his throat. “I want that too. I just... I’m scared. Of how they’ll react. Of losing them completely.”

First cupped Khao’s face in his hands, his thumb brushing away a tear that Khao hadn’t realized had fallen. “We’ll face it together. We’ll apologize to them, explain everything, and do whatever it takes to make it right. But we can’t keep living in fear of the past. They deserve the truth, and so do we.”

Khao nodded slowly, a sense of resolve building within him. “You’re right. It’s time to stop running and start making things right. But it’s going to be hard. Earth, Neo... they’ve been carrying this secret for so long. And Mix, Book, Force... they’re still so angry with me.”

“I know,” First said softly. “Earth and Neo stood by me because they’re my friends, but I owe them an apology too. Keeping this from everyone wasn’t fair to them. And as for Mix, Book, and Force... we’ll just have to show them how sorry we are. Not with words, but with actions.”

Khao let out a shaky breath, leaning into First’s touch. “I don’t deserve you.”

“Yes, you do,” First said, his voice filled with conviction. “And we deserve to be happy. Together.”

Khao smiled, the weight on his chest feeling a little lighter. “Okay. Let’s do it. Let’s fix this. And... I’d love to move back in with you.”

First grinned, his eyes sparkling with joy. “You have no idea how happy that makes me.”

Khao laughed softly, brushing his lips against First’s. “I think I do.”

They lay there for a while longer, holding each other and letting the warmth of the morning wrap around them like a promise. They knew the road ahead wouldn’t be easy, but with each other’s support, they felt ready to face it. Together, they would mend the broken pieces and rebuild not just their relationship, but the connections they had fractured along the way.

This time, they would get it right.

The bar was lively, music thumping softly in the background, and the air carried the warmth of old friendships rekindling, though it wasn’t without its scars. Khao and First sat at the center of the group, their drinks in hand as they exchanged glances of gratitude and quiet relief. Around the table sat Earth, Neo, Mix, Book, and Force. It was the first time they’d all been together since the fallout.

"So," Mix began, swirling his drink, his tone sharp but not hostile, "are we just going to gloss over the fact that this whole... *mess* only came to light because Podd caught you both red-handed?" He narrowed his eyes at Khao and First.

Khao winced, the memory of that day still raw. "You’re right, Mix. We didn’t come clean. We should have, but... we didn’t. And because of that, things spiraled out of control." He met Mix’s gaze directly. "I hate that it got to that point. I hate that I hurt Podd, you, and everyone else in the process. I can’t undo what’s been done, but I’m here now, apologizing because I want to make things right."

Mix’s jaw tightened as he leaned back in his chair. His gaze flicked to Earth briefly, his boyfriend, who had kept the truth from him for so long. "You know what bothers me the most? It’s not just that you two were sneaking around. It’s that Earth knew about it this whole time and didn’t think I deserved to know. That hurts more than anything."

Earth sighed, his face filled with guilt. "Mix, I’m sorry. I knew it was wrong, but I was stuck. I didn’t agree with what they were doing, but it wasn’t my secret to tell. I thought I was doing the right thing by staying out of it. Clearly, I was wrong." He reached for Mix’s hand, his voice softer. "I never meant to hurt you."

Mix stared at him for a long moment before finally relenting, though his voice was tinged with frustration. "You should’ve trusted me enough to tell me, Earth. We’re supposed to be a team."

"I know," Earth said quietly. "I’ll do better. I promise."

Book, ever the peacemaker, cleared his throat. "Look, what happened was... bad. For everyone. But Podd’s in a better place now, thanks to First’s father helping him start over. And honestly, it feels like things are finally settling down. Maybe it’s time we let this go and move forward."

Force nodded, his arm draped casually over Book’s shoulders. "Yeah. Khao and First screwed up, no doubt about it, but they’re here now, apologizing. That’s got to count for something."

Neo raised his glass, grinning. "Agreed. Let’s not let their mess ruin the vibe tonight. If Podd can move on with his life, I think we can too."

Mix sighed, his fingers tracing the rim of his glass. "Fine. But don’t expect me to forget everything overnight." He fixed Khao and First with a pointed look. "You’ve got a lot to make up for."

Khao nodded earnestly. "We know. And we will."

As the night wore on, the heavy atmosphere gradually lifted, replaced by laughter and teasing. Neo and Force got into a mock arm-wrestling match, which ended in both of them spilling their drinks and earning groans from the others.

"You two are impossible," Book teased, shaking his head as he handed Force a napkin.

Earth leaned into Mix, their earlier tension fading as Earth whispered something that made Mix crack a reluctant smile.

Khao and First sat back, watching the group. For the first time in months, Khao felt a spark of hope. These were his friends—family, even. And though it would take time, he believed they could heal together.

First nudged him gently. "Feeling better?"

Khao turned to him, a soft smile on his lips. "Yeah. I think we’ll be okay."

First raised his glass. "To second chances."

The others hesitated for a moment before joining the toast, their glasses clinking together in a fragile yet hopeful harmony.

The road ahead would still be rocky, but for now, they had each other—and that was enough.
