The sheep and the wolf

There once was a wolf,

Smart, sly, clever, hungry,

very hungry.

The forest wasn't feeding him anymore,

All the animals knew his tactics,

So they outsmarted him easily.

Whenever he would approach,

Everyone would take their leave,

So one day, he had an idea,

That could put an end to his misery.

The smart wolf would simulate an injury,

So that he could infiltrate the farm smoothly,

Once inside, he'll wait for the sun to set,

And will finally succeed at his quest.

His plan perfected, it's now time to put it into action.

He made his way to the sheep farm,

Cried loudly

And caught the shepherd's attention,

Her kind heart guided the wolf inside,

The sheep however, didn't let their guard down,

All of them, except for one of the babies.

The young sheep walks up to him, confidently,

Thinking that the wolf can't be that mean...surely.

Hello Wolf sir, do you need any help? You don't look okay.

The smart wolf was quick to answer.

Oh my! Little meaty patootie,

My paw, it might be broken,

See, any pressure on it hurts awfully,

If only someone could stay with me...

The small sheep, touched deeply,

Agreed to spend the night by him.

Morning arose, and the sheep is nowhere to be seen.
