A woman this morning
Woke up as the sun was shining
In the mirror she saw the grace,
Visible on her beautiful face
But society didnt accept this
No society could never
Why would a woman be proud
When she can put on some make-up
A teenage girl around lunch time
Checked her social media one last time
A photo of her the night before
Was posted and maybe she'll post more?
But society didnt accept,
The confidence of this teen girl
So under her post, heinous comments rose
Around midnight the same day
A car is pulled off on the side
A turned off engine, an opened door
Phone in hand, a girl exits her car
But society already decided her fate
The last day she would walk on this earth
Her skin color, her braided hair
Was enough to make him pull the trigger
