You stand anxiously in line waiting to get a ticket to the homecoming dance with your friend, Sasha, who has forced you into going, beacause as she sees it you should go at least once in your high school years and since you're a senior this is your last chance. Personally you think its pointless to go to a dance that's meant to welcome back the school's alumni, but since she's been begging you for weeks on end, you caved so she'd shut up, and not whine about how you didn't go to the dance.
"Can this line move any slower? Lunch is almost over and I haven't had food!" she whines like you're the one that wants to get these tickets.
"Well, if you'd thought ahead and bought two tickets before homecoming week while you were begging me to go to it with you, we wouldn't have to stand in line!"
"But I-"
"No buts its your fault! I shouldn't have to be here!"
"You're right, but I don't know the policy on students buying tickets for other students," she pouts.
You sigh, "Fine, we're almost to the front anyway."
The line moves up quickly after the exchange between you and Sasha as though the students selling tickets heard you and finally figured out how to properly work and exchange money for tickets. Once you get up to the front you find that the student body president, Levi, is working the table. You're kind of shocked because he generally doesn't like to work the ticket tables.
"Are you buying a ticket, or what?" Levi asks boredly, as you stand there looking like a deer in headlights because you've had a crush on him since freshman year.
"Y-yeah, o-one ticket please," you stutter after being shoved a bit by Sasha.
"What a (boy/girl)friend not taking you?" he says looking quite astonished.
"I don't have one..." you say wondering where he's going with this question.
"Oh? Being as attractive as you are, I would've figured..."
"That I would have a date? Sadly no, but that can be fixed," you flirt smiling happy that he finds you attractive even though his expression didn't show it until you made him blush with your words.
"Really? How's that?" he responds with a slight blush and small smirk.
"Well you could take me," you state causing him to gain a slightly startled expression as though he hadn't expected you to be so outright.
"Hey! Googly eyes, stop yapping and exchange money for a ticket so I can get one then go eat," Sasha interrupts your flirt session with Levi.
"Right. Here's your ticket," he responds, handing you a ticket after writing something on it. Before you can look at the neat writing Sasha pushes you to the side and hands Levi money, and as he gives her a ticket the bell rings ending lunch.
As you and Sasha walk to class, she whines, "I didn't get to eat! And its all your lovebird googly eye flirting fault! Now I'll be hungry the rest of the day!"
"Yeah right. You'll probably have twice as much food during next peroid than what you would've had during lunch," you say rolling your eyes at her.
"That doesn't matter! Your flirting lost me one meal of my day! Oh, what'd the ticket say?" she says sliding into her seat.
"I don't know I didn't get a look at it," you respond, sitting next to her.
"Then look at it!"
"No! Not now!"
"Why not?"
"Because we're in class!"
"Yes, you are in class. Would you two like to share what's so important that you're disrupting it?" your English teacher, Mrs. Kemble, interrupts.
