Hello thanks for reading my interview with Monique/ XDMidnightDancerXD
How did you come up with your username? I had two prior to this one. I wanted something mysterious and dark hense 'Midnight', I love dancing and the XD's were for fun :D XDMidnightDancerXD :)
What inspired you to start writing?
In year six i was forced to be held back for an excellarated english course and got really annoyed by it. I thought i should go there too but my teacher said i have to help the kids struggling. As i did i found myself writing new things and doing well with the tasks and teaching myself to get better. One homework was to write a story and when my pen hit the paper I couldn't stop. I wrote for my own enjoyment from there on :)
How did you discover Wattpad?
I was bored over my summer and was talking to my cousin in Canada Via webcam and she gushed at how wonderful this site is and I had to sign up!
What is your favourite chapter or story that you have written?
My favourite story up to date has to be 'The Unwanted Madien'. I love historical fiction so it's fun to write :D
Do you think you have improved on your writing in the time you have been on Wattpad?
I most defiantely have! By reading all the wonderful books here i've learned about structure and patience. My stories go on for longer and aren't so rambly :)
What is your favourite genre in stories?
I don't really have a favourite, it's a tough decision but it would be between fantasy, historical fiction and paranormal
Who was your favourite childhood publisher?
When I was about 6 or 7 i read Francessca Simon and Rohl Daul books. Horrid Henry and the twits cracked me up :)
What do you enjoy most about writing stories?
I love that i can create a world of my own in them where no one can tell me what to put in it and that i can control what happens. Also creating a character is like building a person, i can make them how i want to. My overractive imagination has to be put to use.
Who are your favourite characters in yout stories?
My favourite character is Krissy Jones from Overrated because she strong and has an attitude. How did you choose the names for your characters? Babyaddicts.com hehe they're random XP
Do you base your stories on real life?
Urm sometimes, Overrated's love plot happened to me; there was a jerk i knew who i hated but kind of liked and he had Sam's qualities. but I didn't get my Sam, he moved away.
Do you want your work to be published?
That would be amazing if my work did :) I work hard on them so to see them on shelves would make it all worth wild.
What are your favourite stories on Wattpad at the moment?
Aww that's a tough one. My fav book ended today which was the ex girlfriend conversations (it cracked me up), I love everything by Cloverism, and Far Away by xangelsmomx. I don't get as much reading time as i'd like but summer's coming soon :)
Do you get writers block? If so, how do you overcome it?
Not so much anymore, on the rare occasions i take a walk, have a little work out or watch T.V. It always helps to not think about it and then when you sit down to write just let it flow :)
What do you prefer more? Reading or writing?
Writing.
How do you come up with your ideas?
I dream of them then expand them later. My plots tend to be really different :)
Who is your favourite Wattpad writer at the moment?
Again, tough choice! Cloverism and the new comer JenniJames :) They're both so lovely and their writing is amazing!
Has any of your family or friends read any of your stories?
Yup! A quatre of my family have read since my brother and sister put it on facebook and a few friends are on here supporting me :)
Are you thinking of any new stories at the moment?
Yes! A new historical story and my first shot at a teen fiction novel with nothing else eg fantasy paranormal :)
