*********

So, that night I was laying in bed, wide awake.  I would say it was around midnight, it was so dark.  I rolled over so my back was to the door, and I closed my eyes and pretended to sleep as I heard someone opening my door.  I could hear their footsteps as they made their way to my bed, and then, at the side of my bed, they froze.

"Are you sure she remembers?" asked a man.  It took all my concentration to keep myself from pouncing on him and ripping his throat out.  It was the man who brought me here, the one we only knew by Doctor.

"Positive.  She painted a picture of her and her parents today, although she looked at the painting confused, like she was wondering who painted it." said the art teacher.  Rage boiled through my body, and the Doctor spoke again.

"Most likely she repressed the memories as best as she could, and as a result, she has forgotten everything that she remembered.  Either that or she is an amazing actress." he said.  Well, at least he admitted to my acting abilities.  As he walked away and out of the room, I shot out of bed and slid beside the door.  Strange.  No one was patrolling tonight.

Ah, allow me to explain.  They have nurses patrolling every night in order to make sure no one tries to sneak out.  I guess you could blame me for that, when I was little I would have nightmares of a fire...

Dear god, those nightmares weren't nightmares at all, they were the memories!  My heart pounded so loudly that I was sure that they would have heard it.  I slid the door open, and snuck out of my room.  I had to find the most information as I could.

That information just so happened to be in the library.

Which was on the other side of Hell.

I managed to get around without getting caught, due to the fact that no nurses were in the halls.  Yet that didn't mean that the night class didn't walk around.

Ah, the night class.  The ones who refused to believe that the 'hallucinations'  were hallucinations after all.  They were separated from us of the day class because most of the day class was the people who accepted that they were in here for what the Doctor diagnosed.  I rolled my eyes as I remembered lunch, and how everyone ignored me.

I was walking through the cafeteria, looking for a place to sit.  The moment everyone saw me walking through, they moved away from me.  That was because they knew that my 'hallucinations' were stronger then theirs were, and that I needed 'special care' from the nurses to get around.   That was a load of bull.

So, as I walked through, I noticed how Audri slightly motioned for me to sit next to her.  I did, and Jezleen dragged her off again, muttering about how I was a freak and how she shouldn't hang around me.  I shrugged it off like I normally do, and just ate my lunch.  The rest of the day I walked around in total silence, like I was known to do.

So far, the only ones who knew I could still talk was Jezleen and Audri, and the only one who knew my voice was Audri herself.

It felt strange, walking through the dark.  Theresa walked in front of me, and looked around for some books that could give me valuable information.  She stopped in front of a single book, and indicated for me to look at it.

"This is the information you will need, darling." she whispered, and faded into the darkness.  Probably off to see daddy and tell him that I was looking for family information.  I brought the book over to a table, and lit a candle with some matches I kept on me.  Where I got the candle from, don't ask.  I keep matches on me because I like fire.  So what if it makes me a pyromaniac?  It's a good way to escape from Hell, even if it is only for a few hours and the only stuff burned was Doctor's office....

I held the candle right next to the book, and blew the dust off the thick leather cover.  Damn, how old was this book?  My eyes widened as I read the title.

Blossom of Psychic Abilities

Blossom?  Psychic abilities?  This was all new...

I opened the first page, and started reading when someone sneezed to my left.  I grabbed the candle, and barked out a single order.

"Show yourselves!" I barked, and out came Jezleen and Audri.  I raised a single eyebrow, and stared at Jezleen's eyes, now that I had a chance.  Green, turquoise, misty blue, and a touch of purple all in one.  Did I mention the grey rim?

"Hey, I finally hear your voice, freak.  Now, care to share what's so important?" Jezleen asked.  I smirked, and pointed to the book.

"I think I've just found out what's in those pills they give us."

*****

Jezleen, Audri and I have been reading that book as much as we could.  We managed to get to the final pages when it was dawn.  None of us were tired.

I slumped back in my chair, and rubbed my eyes.

"That's why the pill didn't work on any of us..." I muttered.  Jezleen nodded, and Audri was looking at the family trees.

"To think, we are all descendants of the people who discovered this flower and it's abilities..." Audri muttered.  My eyes widened, and realization hit me.

"That's why the Doctor killed my parents." Jezleen and Audri looked at me, both with wide eyes.  "The last thing he said to me before he brought me here was that I was going to be used for research.  Research to see if this medicine works on those of the bloodline." I rubbed my head, and Theresa took my head in her hands.

"You've done well in discovering what's going on.  Now you must help the others to remember their families as well..." she whispered.  I nodded, and looked Jezleen and Audri in the eyes.

"So, what are we gonna do now?" Jezleen asked.  I smiled at her, a real smile.  I hadn't smiled like this since I had last seen mommy and daddy alive.

"We go to sleep." I said.  We put the book and candle back where I found them, and went back to our rooms and to sleep.

As I drifted off to sleep, words from the book hit my mind over and over again.

The Grey Blossom is a flower that, when discovered over 100 years ago, is scientifically proven to reduce the abilities of mediums and those with any sort of psychic powers.  It is a rare blossom, and only can be bread in the most perfect of environments.  It was discovered by 3 woman, who were all very close friends.

Their names were Scarlet Janice Nostrin, Jezleen Alexis Blair, and Audri Michaela Estreen.  Soon after their discovery, each of them claimed they were able to see ghosts, and were sent into a mental institution.

'Who would have thought that each of us were named after our ancestors???' was my final thought before I fell asleep.
