The classroom hummed with the soft murmur of students whispering to each other, the air thick with anticipation. Miss Chavez stood at the front, watching them with expectant eyes. Everyone was ready for the day's activity to begin. Liam's gaze wandered to Miguel, who was sitting beside him, tapping his pen lightly on the table. The silence between them felt different now-charged, heavier, like there was an unspoken understanding they hadn't fully acknowledged.

"Alright, everyone," Miss Chavez said, breaking the silence. "Time to present your activity. I hope you've all prepared well. Remember, this is your opportunity to showcase your creativity and how well you've understood the task."

Liam swallowed nervously. He turned to Miguel, who was staring ahead, his calm demeanor unwavering. "Ready?" Liam whispered, his voice uncertain but soft.

Miguel glanced at him, a tiny, almost imperceptible smile playing at his lips. "We got this," he muttered, more to himself than to Liam.

The first pair was called to present, and one by one, students stood up to perform their tasks-some nervous, others confident. When their turn came, Miss Chavez's gaze fell on them.

"Miguel, Liam, you're up."

Liam's heart skipped a beat. Was it excitement? Fear? Or something else entirely? His stomach flipped as he stood up. Without thinking, his hand brushed against Miguel's as they walked forward. For a split second, their fingers touched, and Liam felt a warm jolt shoot through him. He quickly pulled back, pretending it hadn't happened, but his heart raced in his chest.

They reached the front together. Miguel placed his paper on the desk, glancing at Liam as they stood side by side. Liam cleared his throat, suddenly feeling exposed. "Uh... so, our task was to represent love. We... we decided to show it through actions and expressions."

Miss Chavez raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Go on."

Liam looked at Miguel again, who gave him a small nod, silently urging him to continue. "We thought it would be better to show how love isn't just about words. It's about the little things, the gestures... like the way you look at someone when you care about them."

Miguel then took over, his voice steady. "Love isn't always about grand gestures. Sometimes, it's the quiet moments-the unsaid things-that speak the loudest. So, for our presentation, we're going to show that through a gaze."

The class fell silent, all eyes fixed on them. Liam felt the weight of their stares, but Miguel's calmness grounded him. Standing there, facing each other, the room seemed to fade away. It was just the two of them. Miguel's eyes locked with his, and for a moment, Liam forgot where he was, who he was. It felt like the world had paused.

Their gazes held, heavy with meaning, and unspoken words passed between them. Liam could feel the intensity of Miguel's presence, the warmth in his eyes. It wasn't just a gaze-it was a connection, something deeper than words could express.

It was the kind of love they'd been talking about-subtle, quiet, but undeniable.

After what felt like an eternity, Miss Chavez clapped her hands, breaking the silence. "Very well done, gentlemen. That was powerful."

Liam blinked, snapping out of his trance. He looked at Miguel, whose expression was unreadable, but there was something in his eyes that Liam couldn't quite place.

"Good job," Miss Chavez said, her smile approving. "You showed the class that sometimes, actions speak louder than words."
