Jessie's Perspective
Gyrosphere 07 parked just as I said that, as I timed in my head from my time working here. Zach slyly smiled slightly. Gray got in, climbing inside the Gyrosphere by crawling.
"Want to go first?" Zach politely asked.
"I'll let you two sit in front, yeah." I smiled. I kind of wish I sat with Zach, to be honest, but I'm glad he sat with his sibling. I crouched slightly, and climbed in, sliding between the two seats and rested my feet on the other seat in the back. I pulled my seatbelts on and stared through the window. I saw Zach hold on to the top as he crouched and slipped in the next seat, him and Gray pulling the seatbelt on in unison as the door closed. Zach turned his head, looking out the sphere and then at me, before smiling; I grinned back.
"You okay back there?" He asked.
"Yeah," I smiled. "Like it up there?" I responded.
"This is sooo cool!" Gray exclaimed, moving as much as he can in the seatbelt.
"This really is cool." Zach grinned. "Thanks." I saw his reflection in the glass, and I hoped he couldn't see me as I looked down at my legs, blushing. I turned my head, to face away from him so he would not be able to see me. I saw everyone at the station look disappointed.
"What's happening back there?" I asked nobody in particular, quietly. I reached for my phone in my pocket, even if there is horrible reception in here. I had thirty texts from Uncle Owen and ten missed calls. Shit. I swore to myself. I quickly texted Uncle Owen.
To: Uncle Owen
From: Me
Do you know what's happening at the Gyrosphere station? Why'd you call and text so many times? I'm in the Gyrosphere.
"So, Jessie, who was that?" Gray directed towards me, but looked at his brother in a teasing manner.
"Hm?" I didn't catch well the first time, due to me freaking out about how slow the text is sending, until finally I heard the soft sound of encouragement from the phone. "Oh, uh," I immediately realized what he was talking about. "That was Spencer, he's the closest person to my age here. Haven't seen him in ages really..." I trailed off.
"So, no boyfriend?" Zach clarified.
"Uh, no." I chuckled slightly. "Watch the screen!" I instructed them, as Jimmy Fallon appeared as we entered the fields.
"Oh, hi there!" Jimmy Fallon started. I eventually remembered this video by heart, so as they stayed quiet, with Zach's hand on the controller, they listened to his introduction and explanation of the Gyrosphere, while I was trying to get in contact with my uncle. "Your safety's the main concern." I saw Gray look at the screen, with a slight hint of boredom. He probably knew all of this. I stared at my phone, and felt eyes on me, but when I looked up to check who it was, Zach quickly turned his head back around, making me blush.
So far, Zach has been extremely nice to me – not exactly his brother, funny and sweet. He is also quite attractive too, so that's a bonus. But, girlfriend – hands off. I saw him go on his phone quickly, while Jimmy Fallon was following the script.
"Where are they?!" Gray asked, angrily as he slapped the glass.
"Oh man." I heard Zach say, looking up from his phone as he looked around, finally seeing the dinosaurs.
"Triceratops." I smiled, pointing at the one in front of us. "They're my second favorite dinosaurs." I shrugged.
"What's the first?" Zach inquired, as I turned to look at him.
"They're not open to the public." I shrugged. "They're Velociraptors." I started missing Echo, even as we went from the bottom of a number of dinosaurs. I saw Zach and Gray look at the dinosaurs in wonder, staring at each of the dinosaurs in awe.
"Aren't they extremely dangerous?" Gray countered.
"Yup." I responded, as we all still stared out the window. "Something that might interest you, I imprinted on one of the raptors here." Gray turned around, with wide eyes and an excited grin painted on his lips. A buzzing noise came from the screen, alerting us.
"Due to technical difficulties, all our exhibits are now closed." The electronic voice started. "Please disembark all rides, and return to the resort." I saw Zach and Gray look at each other, with a sad glance, before Gray turned around and looked at me sadly.
"Do you know what happened?" He asked me, voice full of disappointment.
"Wish I did, bud." I sighed. "We ought to head back." He turned around and let out a dissatisfied sigh. Zach's phone beeped, and lit up. Gray looked at his screen, before giving Zach a sad face but thumbs up. Zach gave him a sad half smile, before turning to look at me, then returning his brothers glance, shrugging.
"C'mon," I heard Zach interrupt the silence. "We could stay out a couple more minutes. Right, Jessie?" He looked back at me, eyes piercing at me as if saying 'c'mon please.' I know he is doing this for his brother, and I know this isn't right. Be helpful, be not helpful. I couldn't think of a good choice, and before I knew it, I spoke.
"Yeah, I suppose." I shrugged. Why did you do that? I mentally screamed at myself.
"But they said it was closed." Gray pouted.
"Aunt Claire gave us special wristbands," Zach persisted. "VIP, dude." Jessie, don't give in to his irresistible charm. Don't let him do the wrong thing. "C'mon. It'll be fine." He grinned, leaning his head back and looking out the glass, before pressing the controller harder, letting us go faster. You let him, you idiot.
The ride was moving quickly, as we passed by other dinosaurs. I couldn't fully enjoy the ride, my guilt eating me up. We sat in total silence, when Zach's phone went off.
"Hey Claire." Zach greeted. "Yeah, we're with someone else too. Listen, I can't really hear you, we're in the hamster ball." I chuckled at that part. "Hello? Hello?" He kept repeating.
"The reception here is really bad." I informed him. Zach let his phone down and hung up. We moved forwards, still in complete silence. I eventually moved into the seated position. I heard dinosaur's moans and groans, something I have never heard before in this park.
"I think we need to head back." I fearfully said.
"What happened here?" Zach asked, curious as we saw the open gate that was supposed to be closed. It was an restricted area, for Christ's sake. No, don't go there. "Dude, off road."
"But they told us to go back." Gray added.
"We should head back." I reinforced."I'm just worried you are not getting the whole Jurassic World experience." Zach reasoned, turning his head to look at Gray and then at me, trying to let me let him. I couldn't let him go, but I couldn't speak. He let his finger up to his mouth, shushing both me and him before heading through the gate. I felt the terror rise up in my stomach.
I have never been here before. That says a lot.
