She felt like Clovis was gonna be a close friend. Unlike her hunting buddies, she was very close to them since they were together for a long time, but Clovis has only bin around for a day, and they're starting to get close already. Laviel was happy about that. She didn't think she'd meet someone on her journey.
The river was uncrossable. The current was way too fast, if they swam, they would die.
"We'll just look for the waterfall" Laviel Suggested "All rivers eventually lead to a waterfall"
They followed the river. The sound of water calmed Laviel everytime. Whenever she had a problem, she would sit on the nearby creek, and meditate. For a hunter, she tended to get scared pretty easily. Despite the dangers the forest held, she was constantly pressured. Whenever something got close, she would be pressured and not think of a plan, which sometimes resulted in injury.
"So, what happened to your hometown?" Clovis asked.
Laviel had to be brave. "The hestians... They came over and tried to take over. I could remember what happened. Templars closed in from every direction, each riding horses. We tried to fight back, me and my parents but..."
Her voice broke.
"I'm sorry" Clovis said "I shouldn't have pushed you"
"It's alright" Laviel said, though she was glad she didn't have to speak of it anymore.
After a long trek, they reached the peak of a waterfall. It roared all the way down. If they were able to get down, they can easily cross.
"C'mon, lets go down the-"
A roar came from behind them. They looked around, to see a tiger, glaring at them.
"Let me-" the tiger lunged at Laviel, making her stagger backwards, a cut bled on her arm.
"Are you alright?" Clovis asked, looking at the tiger.
"I'm alright" Laviel said, fighting the pain.
Clovis took his pocket knife and went near the tiger.
"Let's just jump!" Laviel suggested.
"What no!" Clovis said, pointing his knife at the tiger.
"If we survive, we can cross!"
Clovis looked like he wanted to hesitate, but they jumped.
