3rd Person POV

Maya eventually rose from the guest bed and found herself panicking for a split second before she realized where she was. She sighed in relief before getting out of the bed and rubbing her sore eyes. She looked down at her hands as she placed them in her lap. She was distraught at what happened last night and falling asleep didn't help her at all. She still couldn't figure out what to do with the information that Farkle had revealed at New Year's.

She decided she wouldn't let it affect her and work through her problems. She knew sitting and crying over it wouldn't change what happened or help the situation. She forgave Riley for feeling the same but she didn't forgive the brunette for not telling the blonde her feelings, as they always told each other everything they did or felt in their lives.

She knew it would be a while before she fully forgave Farkle but she was thankful for the brown-haired boy revealing her best friends feelings. Knowing Riley, she probably would've kept this charade going until she snapped from jealousy, sadness, anger or any other pent up emotion she would be feeling while seeing the two blondes together.

She thought about her sister's words from last night and one particular thing she said replayed in her mind like a bad memory. 'Well, I think you found your Romeo, Juliet. Every time you mention him your eyes light up and you were constantly smiling while describing him. I think you should try and see if he feels the same way.'

Maya realized she would have to do this before anyone else got to him and made sure to think long and hard about what she was going to say. Even if she was mad at her best friend, she still had to go over and grab her jacket that she left there. the blonde also knew that Zay would be there because the boys were sleeping over, on the couch, of course.

She exited the room and saw her sister and her old crush sitting at the island and eating breakfast. She saw a plate of eggs and bacon on the table that was untouched, indicating it was for her. She smiled at them and and took a stool before sitting down and devouring her food in only a few minutes. "Fall asleep hungry, little sis?", Lily asked from beside her boyfriend with a smile.

Maya only sheepishly nodded before finishing off her food and jumping down from the stool. The blonde walked over to her sister and hugged her tightly before hugging Josh slightly. "I'm taking your advice, Lils. I'm gonna ask Zay out and hope he says yes." Lily only smiled at her sister, proud of the young woman she was becoming right before her eyes.

"That's great, Maya. I'm happy for you and here if anything bad happens. So, is Josh."
"Yup, we'll be here whenever you need it, Maya. Just do your thing and go after this Zay." Maya nodded at the two of them before going back to the guest bedroom, grabbing her dress, and exiting her sister's apartment. She was thankful that she had worn sneakers and not heels since she was going to climb through Riley's window as to not make any noise trying to come in through the front door.

So, she did just that. She climbed through her best friend's window as quietly as she could and saw her and Smackle sleeping together on Riley's bed. She knew that neither of them would wake up if she just exited the room from their many sleepovers of her waking up before the two and managing to eat breakfast and get dressed before they even noticed.

She exited the room and walked to the living room-slash-kitchen to see the guys already awake and playing small board games. Zay was the first to notice the blonde and smiled at the sight. "Hey, beautiful. Where'd you come from? Last time I checked you had left", he said, standing up and walking over to the blonde with a charming smile.

Maya smiled and blushed at the nickname before eyeing the two boys that were watching the interaction. "Uhm, I came through Riley's window. Anyways, I was hoping that you and me could talk...privately." Zay just looked at her with a confused expression before turning to his friends and shrugging his shoulders, indicating that he had no clue why she wanted to talk tonight him alone.
