3rd Persom POVLily was extremely proud of her sister. She knew that for her sister it was incredibly hard to make the decision to make, being as the only dates she has ever gone on was when she was forced to for Riley and, if you can even call it a date, the time the two blondes almost kissed at the campfire in Texas. She knew the younger blonde had aahrder time doing things seriously and this time she was thriving on her own. Lillian sighed before heading out of her apartment and heading to work.
She arrived at the diner and fastened her apron around her waist before getting to work. Taking orders, cleaning tables, being yelled at for someone's order not being ready fast enough even though she's not the cook. You know, the usual. She had sweat beads across her forehead by the time her shift ended. Even though just a few small steps outside the New York air would freeze anyone as soon as it hit, but inside the diner it felt like summertime and was killing the older Hart as she was running around to get everything done.
She untied her apron and zipped up her long North Face jacket before kissing her mother's cheek and exiting the diner. She took a deep breath and watched as the carbon dioxide was visible as she breathed out through her mouth. She walked down the cold New York streets before eventually arriving to her apartment. She entered the building to feel a sudden rush of warmth that came from the ventilation system in the building.
Lillian walked up the stairs of her building and felt around in her pockets for her key before finding it and arriving at her door just in time to insert her key and enter the apartment. She took off her jacket and placed it on the coat rack before placing her gloves into her pockets and gliding her way to the kitchen. She noticed there was a cup of hot tea sitting there waiting for her and furrowed her eyebrows in confusion.
She took the cup and wafted the smell to her nostrils, inhaling the familiar smell of camomile tea. She smiled subconsciously at the tea and took a sip before feeling a kiss being planted on her cheek. She leaned back into her boyfriend and pecked his lips softly. Josh smiled at this before kissing back.
They parted to catch their breath and smiled at each other. "Thank you, Josh. I needed this", she said softly before leaning back into him and sighing. Josh smiled at his girlfriend before he sat down next to her and pulled her close. "My parents want to see you again. Even Feeny wants to see you. Feeny, man", Josh said, which made the blonde laugh into his chest.
"I've been told I'm very likable."
"I would hope so or else I don't know why I'm dating you", Josh jokingly said. Lily smiled at her boyfriend's antics before taking a sip of her tea and relaxing into him more. Josh wrapped his arms around his girlfriend before kissing the top of her head and resting his cheek on her head. The two sat there in silence, enjoying each other's presence and in that moment, they really resembled a happy, calm, married couple. They seemed to be in their own little world in the blonde's apartment, one where it was just them and nothing else mattered except their happiness. The two were connected in a way where even though they were still children, they completed each other and made each other's lives a little more worth while. Granted they had their problems now and again but they worked it out in the end and that was all that mattered to the two.
Ever since they met at the Mathews' Christmas party, it was like they were meant to be together. A year later and they had little, meaningless fights now and again but they always worked it out and would visit back and forth between Philly and New York until Josh fully moved to, for one, be with Lily more, and two, to be closer to NYU.
So, in the end they had struggles and would be stressed with school and work but they always worked it out for themselves and each other and that's what helped them grow. They needed each other to be complete and they wouldn't be fully complete for a long time. But, until then, they were growing every day, and that's the only thing that counts.
