3rd Person POV

It had been an about two months since Josh and Lily started dating and both of them couldn't be happier. Lily was seen smiling brighter than she even had in her life and her mother was proud of her for finding "Such a nice and good looking young man", in her words. Josh was seen with a new light in his eyes and every time someone saw him looking at Lily he had a look in his eyes that even his parents had never seen before, one of adoration and love for the girl that he now knew as his center.

Yes, they had grown to love each other quickly but it was clear that neither one of them would ever want to end the relationship. They seemed to be in their own little world where the only thing mattered was the other one's safety and happiness. Josh would often spend time at her place instead of his brother's when he came to New York, which was now where he resided most of the time considering he was going to go to NYU in a few months and he was being invite to all these programs. The same thing was happening for Lily except she didn't have to move back and forth from Philly to New York and she always kept the spare room ready for when Josh stayed over.

Today, however was a different day. She was going over to her boyfriend's for Thanksgiving and it was a huge step in their relationship. I mean, what other way to meet the parents than at Thanksgiving? She sighed before getting on the train with her duffel bag and finding an empty spot to sit down in. She drifted off to slip before coming awake to a jolt of the train stopping. She slipped off easily and saw her boyfriend waiting close by.

Lily smiled at Josh before coming up to him, bringing his face down to her height, and kissing him. He instantly kissed back before they both pulled away with a smile. "Hi, do you know where my boyfriend is? Tall, handsome, eyes that make me swoon, ever heard of him?"
"No, but I think I found someone else who's tall, handsome, and has eyes that could make you swoon."

"Really? Do you know when I can find him?", Lily said playfully while looking around jokingly for the guy Josh was fake talking about. He smile and laughed at her actions before putting an arm around her waist and walking out with her stuff in one of his hands. They walked over to his car and he put her stuff in the back before opening the passenger side door and letting Lily in, closing it after she was settled.

She put on her seatbelt before Josh got in the driver's side and pulled out of the train station, heading for his house. Lily fiddled with her fingers nervously before calming down when Josh reached over gently and grabbed her hands in a comforting motion.

She smiled softly at him before sighing and looking out the window, watching the trees and cars pass. She smiled at the sight of few cars being out and thought about how different the city was from here. Even in New Jersey they lived in a busy part of the state so she had always experienced loud noises.

They arrived at the Mathews residence and quickly exited the car with Josh grabbing Lily's stuff for her. He opened the door and they weee immediately hit with the smell of mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, turkey, and pumpkin pie, along with other foods, those were the most prominent smells.

Josh set her stuff down on the couch and called out to his mother. "Ma! We're back from the station!", he said before an older man with greying hair and a resemblance to Josh appeared through the doorway.
"Hey, son. This your girl?", he asked while walking over with his hands in the pockets of his jeans.
"Yeah, dad. Lily, this is my dad, dad, this is Lily."

Lily smiled at him and stuck her hand out, to which Alan shook with a smile. "Nice to meet you, Lily. Josh talks about you a lot."
"Oh, now does he?", Lily said teasingly while tilting her head to look up at Josh slightly.
"Yeah, says how your his whole—"
"Okay!  I think that's enough said, dad", Josh said, trying to save himself. Lily smiled at home before turning back to Alan.
