"I can't exactly describe how I feel but it's not quite right. And it leaves me cold."

- F. Scott Fitzgerald

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Minato was a gentleman, unlike so many. In the few lunches we had, he has listened to my requests and swore (more often than necessary) to respect my wishes. It was easy to come to an agreement with how our marriage life will come to be despite the ill intentions our respective organizations had for one another.

I wanted my own personal space and so did he. I did not want to have children as of now with how I needed to juggle taking care of my mother and sister. He explained he wasn't quite ready to raise children either. I wanted our rooms to be separate, he agreed that would be wise for the time being.

Minato was pleasant and soft spoken, a walking contradiction to the family name he was born into and so different from his older brother who has more than once warned me to never hurt his younger brother. Perhaps it was for intimidation or power show but it only heightened Minato's weakness. I brushed the warnings off. I had no intentions of hurting Minato or getting in the bad graces of the Watanabe's. It was my mission to lie low, act the part of a dignified wife, and search for any clue to my brother's death and whether they still wanted me dead.

"I'm so sorry about the delay. I didn't mean to keep you waiting," Minato apologised taking the seat opposite her. "Have you chosen what you would like to have?"

"Don't worry about it, I understand. Um, I haven't quite chosen what I wanted yet though the seafood pasta does sound enticing," I said, pretending to rescan the menu when really I was scanning him.

"Seafood pasta sounds good," he mused as he shrugged off his suit jacket. A waitress swiftly came by and Minato nodded his thanks as she took the jacket. "Then I might go for the mushroom and cheese risotto."

"Sounds good," I said as another waitress took our orders.

Minato wasn't as tall as his brother, standing at around a little over five foot eight, brown hair, occasionally wears glasses (he was short sighted he explained but did not like wearing them), two years older than me, prefers literature and history over mathematics and science, and has an unusual habit of rubbing against his knuckles when nervous or concentrating on a specific task.

"So, uh, how are you today?" Minato made the effort to start another conversation.

"Not bad. Your mother and I have been planning the wedding and uh, it's going well. How are you today?"

"I hope my mother hasn't been too fussy." He grimaced. "First wedding she's planning for her kids. Everyone expected it to be for Haruki since he's the oldest but anyway, I'm glad the planning is going well. I'm sorry I haven't been around much to put in any input."

"No don't worry about it," I said waving a hand. "Planning is something I quite enjoy so it's been fun."

Minato smiled, his left dimple deepening. "That's good to hear. Um, how's your mother doing? Will she be able to attend the wedding?"
