"Stop chasing me! Please stop, I've moved on David." I cry breathless. My ex fiancé follows me in his car. The ally I have been running in comes to a stop.
I feel up the brick wall trying to find someway to get out. His car inches closer and closer. I back against the wall and scream for help. His bumper is a mere foot from me when someone jumps between us, Ricky.
Ricky pushes David's car back and grabs me by the waist, pushing his lips to mine. It surprises me, but I can't help but realize how perfect and right it feels. He pulls away and looks into my eyes. He grabs my hand and we run past the car. David gets out of his car and curses at me and Ricky.
We turn the corner and go into a diner, sitting down we order a coffee. "I love you Jessie." Ricky says, getting down on one knee.
"Jessie! Jessie wake up!" Some yells shaking me.
I snap to attention and see Kian looking down at me. He smiles a crooked grin, "What were you dreaming about? You were saying something about a David."
My blood runs cold at the mention of his name. "No idea who that is." I say, shrugging it off as if it's nothing.
In reality it isn't David in the dream that freaks me out, it was Ricky. I just have this weird feeling about it. The way I felt in the dream, it was indescribable. The way my heart fluttered when he kissed me, the tingling I felt when he grabbed me, and the overwhelming emotion that flooded me when he got on one knee.
I pull my phone from my back pocket and check the time, quarter to ten. "Alright Kian, I got to go to bed. Good night." I say, getting up from my comfortable position on the couch.
"Night Jessie." He says, waving at me. I smile at him and go upstairs. I enter Kian's room and pull off that days clothes, happily pulling on my pajama pants with sleeping penguins.
I climb into the sheets of Kian's bed and relax. His scent relieves me of all stress and anxiety. I let my mind wander and I begin to think about Ricky's lips. They were so soft and real in the dream, fitting to mine like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle. The way he looked into my eyes, the love that filled them, it was too perfect.
I shake my head, these aren't the kind of thoughts I should be having. I let my eyes close and I drift back into a deep sleep, dreaming of nothing just darkness.
