Zaryusu crouched down, thinking about his next set of actions. Unfortunately, he lost his Magic Item in that scuffle against Cocytus.
Well, Cocytus wasn't making it hard for him either. The Guardian just stood there, waiting for the lizardman's next action.
Zaryusu then smashed his palm again the ground. The earth moved and two molds of dirt quickly began to advance towards Cocytus, only to be cut down by Cocytus's God Slaying Emperor Blade.
But that was not all of Zaryusu's plan. No, those two molds were only an distraction.
Zaryusu used them to obstruct Cocytus's field of vision, sneaking close enough and giving a strong pinch to Cocytus's abdomen. Unfortunately, his attack didn't even made the Guardian flinch.
Cocytus:Hmph.
Cocytus's tail moved faster than Zaryusu could react, striking the lizardman's side. Cracking noises resonated through the air as Zaryusu was through back.
As his body stopped sliding through dirt, Zaryusu found breathing itself to be a hard action. Not only that, but the wet densation from his side was unmistakable, he was bleeding.
Zaryusu:He managed to deal me so much damage...With such a simple attack...
If Zaryusu was alone this would be his end. However, the difference here is that his fellow lizardmen had his back.
There were still two chiefs of the tribes still alive and they worked together to combat Cocytus. One of them shoot arrow after arrow at Cocytus while the other chief ran towards Cocytus woth a sword in hand, all while Shasuryu had moved to Zaryusu so he may heal his brother.
An impressive show of teamwork. Unfortunately, it was futile.
While the arrows made contact, they just snapped upon making contact with Cocytus's body. The Guardian didn't even pretend than protecting himself was necessary against such attack.
Cocytus:...Annoying. Piercing Icecicle.
Ice spikes rose from under the archer lizardmen, skewering him before he even knew what was happening. The swordsman didn't have much lack either, being decapitated by Cocytus's blde before any real clash could happen.
With that done, Cocytus set hos sight on the brothers. Seems like Shasuryu finished healing Zaryusu.
Shasuryu:How are your wounds?
Zaryusu:I still feel a dull throbbing, but I should still be able to swing my sword a few times.
Shasuryu:That's good enough. I've actually ran out of mana.
Zaryusu:...You're also overdoing it, brother.
This was a hopeless situation. Both brothers knew that there was absolutely no chance of winning for them.
But, everyone has sacrificed theor lives for this fight. If it's between running or fighting, they'll choose fighting.
Zaryusu:Let's continue attacking!
Cocytus:A brilliant roar.
Zaryusu:...Sorry for making you wait, Cocytus.
Cocytus:No. I wouldn't intrerupt your farewell. Which reminds me...
One of Cocytus's arms moved, throwing something to Zaryusu. The lizardman acted quickly, catching the object.
Zaryusu's eyes widened. Cocytus's threw Zaryusu's very Magic Item he lost in the prior fight, Frost Pain.
Cocytus:You will need that.
Zaryusu:You're giving it back to me?
Cocytus:It's only how it should be. Of we don't hurry this along, Kumagawa-sama might get bored.
