Adventurers aren't people that stay in one place for long. It was simply a fact given by the nature of their occupations.
As such, they simply choose the inns of different towns as their temporary place of living. It was so for every adventurers, even powerful beings that simply posed as adventurers.
Ainz sat in a humble wooden chair, clad in his black armor with an illusory spell cast under it to give the impression of a human male. After all, there was a chance his gelmet could be knocked off or be in a situation where he'd have to take it off, case in which he'd prefer not be discovered as an undead.
Ainz:Not enough...
On the table in front of Ainz several neatly arranged stacjs of coins were sat. Although one couldn't see Ainz's face because of the helmet, his depression over the situation was quite clear.
Ainz:There aren't enough money.
The sound of crunching was heard behind him. Kumagawa sat on the bed in the room, a plate of cookies in his hand which he devoured obnoxiously.
Of course, much like Ainz who keept his fake identity as the adventurer Momon, Kumagawa was also in his disguise as the magic caster Ihiko. The minus wore his kimono and his crying mask was just half raised, revealing only his mouth, in case someone barged into their room.
Kumagawa:[Money. Money. Money. No matter how strong you are, they're always a problem. Hey, can't you just use that? Vreate Greater Item, right]
Ainz:No, it doesn't function like that. It's mainly used to make copies of magic items, up to a certain tier. Sure, I can use it to create more mudame items as well. Unfortunately, currency is one of the limitations of this.
Kumagawa:[Ah, so something so concenient has such limitations, huh?]
Ainz:Yes, our worlds differ quite a bit. The abilities of your world seem to have much less restrictions.
There's also that Ainz's abilities are simply that of the gane charater he created in an MMORPG. Creating currency would be far too broken.
It would be extremly convenient, yes. But no way the developers would let something like that in the game.
Kumagawa:[It's still quite a bit, though.]
Ainz:Yes, this is no small sum in itself. But...
A black hole-like portal opened beside Ainz, his hand going inside of it. He quickly retrieved a sack from it, after which the small portal closed.
He guided a portion of the coin stacks inside of the sack. For now, he set the sack aside.
Ainz:For starters, we have the additional funds fir Sebas. Next, there's the money needed for the lizardmen village to be rebuild, requested by Cocytus. Haa, maybe I should just get a merchant to sponsor me...
Kumagawa:[Hey, hey, even a guy that talks his mind no matter the consequences like me knows the kind of public backlash that would bring. You could be seen as nothing more than a mercenary. Or a gold digger.]
Ainz:Yes, I know that'd be an unfavorable outcome. Still, I have no money...And you aren't making things any easier. Do you truly have a need for that?
Kumagawa:[Hm?]
Ainz:I'm asking if you have a need for food. Like that which you are stuffing your face with right now. Matter of fact, I hardly ever saw you eat.
Kumagawa:[If you ask I get hungry...Of course I do. I'm still human, after all. Granted, I can go on a long time without eating anything. And I can just erase my hunger. But I have a sweet tooth.]
Kumagawa smiled wide, throwing an entire cookie in his mouth abd munching on it ravenously. He showed no remorse for his actions whatsoever.
Ainz:There's also the rezidents of Nazarick. I can't even give a fair salary to the Guardians in my current situation.
Kumagawa:[Money! Money! Money! When have you become such an materialist. Metal and paper aren't the only currency in the world, you know? If anything, those guys would rather take time spend with you.]
Ainz:...Really? You think that could stand for a salary?
Kumagawa:[You underestimate how codependent they are on you. Speaking of which...]
The door of their door creaked as it was pushed open. Naberal returned.
Naberal:Good day, Momon-sa...san.
Ainz:...Don't tell me you have gotten it wrong so many times that it become a habbit.
Naberal:Ah...
Naberal looked flustered by how easy her master saw through her. She began to drop her head, only for Ainz to stop her with a gesture of his hand.
Ainz:No need to bow. It's fine. Have you finished?
Naberal:Yes, I identified all the ores given by different merchants.
Ainz:I see...
Create Greater Item can't be uses to make currency. But they had an item that could work around it, the Exchange Box.
Simply put, you can but whatever you want in the Exchange Box. Those objects would dissapear and you would get the value of wjat you gave up in money.
They tried that with wheat. That said, it took a very large amount for only one gold coin.
Kumagawa:[We're short on money. Yet, to make money you have to invest money. Don't you love those contradictions of society?]
Ainz:At the current time, not at all. Nabe, I'll give you the necessary funds. Also, don't call human insects. Neither can you hurt or kill them if not in an absolutely dire fight scenario. After all, we are the adventurers Darkness...Momon, Nabe and Ihiko.
Kumagawa let out a hum. Quite ironic that they go by that name after their first adventure together.
Nabe:Understood.
Ainz:On another matter. Ihiko, about what we talked...
Kumagawa:[Yes, yes. Can't let a handsome older guy all by himself in a city like that, can we? The ladies would eat him up!]
Kumagawa's form dissapeared into thin air an instance. Only the echo of a chuckle was left, like a ghost that went on to haunt another place.
The Magician Guild. A guild made entirely of magic casters and where magic scrools and such items can be bought.
Sebas stood face to face with the clerk. A kind expression on the butler's face.
Sebas:This spell...The one called Floating Board. Can you tell me more about it?
Clerk:Certainly. Floating Board is a 1st Tier spell that creates a translucent floting board. The platform's maximum loadimg capacity would depend on the caster's mana. If casted from a scroll...It would make two platforms with the capacity of fifty kilograms. The maximum distance between the caster and platform is of five meters. One can also have follow oneself around. It's a spell for transporting cargo and mainly used in landscaping and earthworks.
Kumagawa:[Like this?]
A bag filled with apples was thrown towards them. However, it was quickly intercepted by a translucent floting board, shocking the clerk.
Both Sebas and the clerk turned towards Kumagawa who lokked like he appeared from thin air. He was not in his disguise, but rather his usual wear.
Sebas:Misogi...Have you had fun looking around.
Kumagawa:[Yep! I found some good apples. How about you, grandpa?]
