Picture is Parker
I sat in the hallway across from the history room, strumming my guitar. Skylar had to make up a test and I needed to practice my song for music class. However, I refused to practice in the music room alone with Mr. Edwards. The hallway seemed to be a much safer bet.
A voice I never wanted to hear again sounded through the hallway. My principal clacked her way down the hallway, my father hot on her trail. I quickly put my guitar down and avoided eye contact with both of them.
"Parker will you please join you father and I in my office?" Mrs. Noel asked. Absolutely not I thought, but followed them anyway. Mrs. Noel led the way, merging in front of my father and I. My dad nudged my side, giving me a death glare. If looks could kill.
The three of us entered Mrs. Noel's office. Mrs. Noel sat behind her desk and motioned for my father and I to take a seat.
"Why am I here?" I bluntly asked, not in the mood to chat with my father and principal.
Mrs. Noel seemed taken back by my statement. "You are here because your father informed me that you ran away from home. He's worried about you."
My father worried about me? Yeah fucking right.
"I left because he-" I stopped mid sentence due to my father kicking me under the table. I knew this was a warning and chills made their way up my spine before I spoke again. "He wouldn't let me go to a party and I got really angry with him."
Mrs. Noel nodded before writing something down in her notebook. "Mr. Davis why did you contact the school and not the police?"
"Well I figured the police didn't need to be involved, and make this a bigger deal than it needed to be. I just want my baby to come home!" That's bullshit, I wanted to scream out. He didn't want the police to be involved because they would have figured out he raped and beat me. He only wanted me home so he could let out his drunken frustrations on me.
"Parker you're only seventeen, and there is no evidence of any home problems. Which means you must return home with your father," Mrs. Noel explained. Tell her Parker. Tell her how your own father touches you whenever he wants. Tell her how he hits you. I put my head in my hands and tugged on my hair. These voices won't shut up, I can't think.
Just say the words. "I understand, I'm sorry for leaving dad," I stated instead.
"That's alright. Come on I'll take you home now." There was a glint in my father's eye that said I was going to regret running away.
As I rose from my seat Mrs. Noel stopped me. "If this happens again I am obligated to contact the police." I gave her a quick nod before exiting her office.
I made my way back to the history room, but my father grabbed my arm. "You have one foot in your grave, you little bitch. If you ever run away again, or cause the police to get involved, I will personally see to it that you wish you had never been born," he hissed. I pulled my arm away and continued venturing down the hallway, my father following.
"I have to return the guitar back to the music room," I said as I grabbed the instrument.
My father huffed. "Hurry up, I don't have time to follow you around your whole fuckin' school. You need your punishment, and I promise it will be painful."
I nodded and headed to Jason's room. My mother waited outside, while I entered.
"How can I help you Miss Davis?" he plainly asked, not bothering to look up from his phone.
I placed the guitar back on it's stand, staring at it sadly. "Just returning this."
He lifted his head up and stood from his seat. "Why? I gave it to you."
My gaze became glued to my dirty black converse as I bit my lip. "My dad came to the school and told Mrs. Noel I ran away. She said I have to return home or she will contact the police."
"Good! Parker please tell the police, you can't go back there. If you don't contact them I will," he firmly stated. Why did he care all of a sudden?
"No Jason! I will deny every word you say. If you go to them I will never forgive you!" My father would go after Jason if he ever found out Jason was involved in this. I couldn't bear to see him get hurt.
His face softened at my words as he sunk onto the top of a desk. "What am I supposed to do? I refuse to let you continue to get hurt!" His voice cracked as he spoke, almost as if he were about to cry. Did he really care this much for me? Of course he didn't...no one did.
I shrugged. "Well I refuse to allow you to put yourself in this situation and get hurt."
"Parker I care for you way more than a teacher should for his student, but I can't help it I-"
Suddenly my father entered the room. "I thought I told you to hurry your ass up." His voice and face changed when he saw Jason. "Oh my apologies sir. I just need to get home."
Jason folded his arms over his chest, glaring at my father.
My dad shifted uncomfortably under his gaze before somewhat gently grabbing my wrist, causing Jason to flinch. "Come on sweetheart, let's go." I shot Jason one last look before exiting the room.
"No wait Parker!" Jason called after me, scrambling out of his seat.
"Sir we really need to get going," my father sighed, clearly annoyed. I looked at Jason with pleading eyes, silently begging him not to say anything.
"Mr. Davis I know what you do to your daughter."
Jason what are you doing!?!? Read on to found out what happens.
