If this phone wasn't so expensive I would've thrown it against my wall four calls ago. I sighed staring up at the ceiling as I grabbed my ringing phone. I squinted making sure the name popping across my screen was correct—Sperm Donor.
I respectfully put my phone back onto the nightstand and turned over, fluffing my pillow. Just for it to ring again. This why I got eye bags, they never let a nigga sleep fr.
"Man what?" I said, answering the phone.
"First of all, pipe down" Saige's voice wasn't who I was expecting.
"Why you calling me off pops phone?"
"I'm not... if you would look at your caller ID you would've seen it was me goofy" I rolled my eyes.
"Nigga it's 3 in the morning, why you calling me at booty call hours" he smacked his lips.
"Man get up and get dressed"
"My minutes bout up... bye" I lied, hanging the phone up and closing my eyes back. Then next thing you know, I hear heavy ass knocking on my front door. I know he fucking lying. I started fighting the air before getting out of bed. I slipped my slides on and walked out my room to the loud ass noise.
"Your cell phone plan is unlimited, by the way" Saige said, walking in once I opened the door.
"Damn make yourself comfortable, why don't you" I closed and locked my door following him into my living room.
"Throw something on real quick."
"Where we going?" I questioned grabbing my hoodie off the arm of my chair.
"To get dad, he drunk at some bar"
"That ain't a two person job" I said side eyeing him.
"Bro come on, he won't stop blowing up my phone and I know he called you several times"
"Why is he even here, he lives in Georgia" I questioned, grabbing my wallet and keys.
"Hell if I know, maybe business related" I sighed as we walked out of my apartment and down to the parking garage. I wasn't in the mood to be dealing with a grown drunk ass dude. It was only Wednesday and he wanna be white girl wasted.
The ride to the bar was surprisingly short and not too far from where Saige stayed. Outside looking in, the shit was busted. The neon light had a few bulbs flashing and the once blue color was very faint. You would think they would keep the appearance up to help attract more customers.
"You telling me his bougie ass in there?" I questioned as Saige nodded.
"Yeah this the address he gave me...it's interesting" I followed behind him into the bar surprised it was still open this late on weekdays. After a few glances it wasn't hard to spot him hunched over, clutching a glass tightly. This nigga.
"Lemme hold $50 dollars, brotha. Your repayment will be in blessings" an older guy said, stopping in front of me with his hand on my shoulder. I quickly shrugged him off.
"I'm sorry man, I ain't got that" he tried to suck his teeth but I noticed he ain't have many teeth.
"Broke bitch" he muttered pushing past me.
"Nigga you broker" I called out as Saige pulled me along.
"Let's focus on the task at hand, aight" I rolled my eyes as we walked over to our father who was taking another sip of the brown liquor in his cup. Knowing he can't handle it.
