I grabbed my suitcase and tote out of the Uber's car, sending a wave of thanks as a smile graced my face. I've been waiting on this trip since the day it was announced. Work has been more hectic after the release party. Orders have been nonstop plus working on the commercial has taken up all my free time. This trip was what I needed.

"Solani wait up" I paused my walk towards the security check as I looked behind me. I rolled my eyes as James made his way towards me. I haven't seen him since the day he stood me up and I made it very clear I wanted nothing more from him.

"Why are you here?" I questioned taking a glance at my watch.

"What do you mean why.... You invited me to come with you" he gave me a puzzled look.

"Did you not read my message?"

"I just assumed you were upset about me missing our date. You told me you wanted me here" I fished in my bag for my phone as I scrolled to the last message I sent him. I cleared my throat as I began to read out loud for him.

I'm done trying to make space for someone who can't even show up. You don't have to worry about the trip or me—go back to prioritizing your work like you always do.

"You didn't explicitly say not to come" I blinked at him in confusion.

"I literally said I'm done—it was my first two words" he pulled a box out of his pocket.

"Baby let's talk about this. You know I didn't mean to stand you up" he opened the long box that held a diamond encrusted tennis bracelet.

"Nigga you ain't finna bribe me to stay with you" I scoffed as I took the box from him. "But I will be taking this as repayment for the many missed dates and the humiliation"

"Can we work through this?"

"There's nothing to work through. We went on a total of 3 dates which was all crashed with your workload. This isn't working for me" he nodded rubbing his chin.

"I think after this trip you'll realize what you walking away from" I let out a laugh.

"Let me run then, goodbye James" he smacked his lips mumbling under his breath but I heard him loud and clear.

"She must be on her period"

"And while you at it, delete my number bookie" I turned around not caring that I just lost the first client I made at Desioba. I know I should've never agreed to date him knowing I was going to be his stylist. The one thing I can be grateful for is that I gained a catalog from him that I can show potential clients.

After I got through TSA and secured my ticket that Saige forwarded over. I was on my way to gate 8 where everyone else was probably waiting. I believe I was the last one to arrive but I had to check in with my Grams before I left for the week. The longest trip I took was maybe 3 days. Only because I was nervous to leave her alone that long.

Speaking of, I should probably call her. I dialed up her number as I continued the long walk.

"Girl it's only been 40 minutes" she said as I heard some faint noise in the background.

"Dang I miss you, I can't call" I heard her shushing before her voice became more clear on the phone.

"Ya grandmama tryna get busy, call me once your flight land"

"Eww" she hung up before I had the chance to say anything else. I just know it's the delivery driver Winston over there. I see the way she be giving him googly eyes when he drops the packages off. I guess that's not the only thing he be dropping off.
