"Y-y-you monster!"

"They're just slaves, why are you—"

An entire civilization along with tens of thousands of lives beyond the Dark Wall perished with a single swing. Ten tail flicked lazily as the owner yawned in boredom at the death he had caused.

...

"Miss Liv, is it true that food is abundant even for people like us in New Eridu?"

...

"L-Lord Kurama, take us as your students! W-we'll even offer you our body and soul!"

"Fuck no!"

"Why!?"

"You're kids and YOU have red hair!"

"But you're barely older than us and we're 17!"

He flashed them a middle finger.

The slaves and Kurama, the incident that attracted a certain force.

Her teacup broke in two and the tea spilled across the table.

"Ah, allow me, Miss Luna." Rina said the moment she heard the crack and saw the content spilling.

Luna stared with a slightly dumbfounded look before blinking. She had a bad feeling about this, and it didn't take long for that premonition to happen.

A blackout occurred, not just on Sixth Street, but the whole New Eridu. Luckily, the basement's power generator kicked in and the lights turned back on for their house a second later.

At the same time, the TV in the living room flicked on by itself, filling the room with hissing static.

"...a short circuit?" Rina murmured as she finished cleaning up the mess. She reached for a new cup but froze as the static twisted into broken syllables.

"...l̸̻̉o̴̳̎...n̴̛͕e̶͚͘..."

Rina froze, then startled when the door to the store and the basement opened at the same time and Alpha and Liv stepped in with grim looks. The maid noticed Alpha was wearing something different now, unlike before, her hair was shorter and flowing freely behind her back. She also wore some sort of skin-tight armor that wrapped her figure with red patterns pulsing faintly across the suit. On top of her head, she had two crown-like horns that went down, framing her face. 'Is that a tail?'

"...y̵͙̕o̶̠͑u̶̲͂ ̸̖͝a̴̮͌ṙ̶̰ė̶̫ ̸̛̪n̴̠͆ǫ̶̓t̷̳͑ ̶͍̍a̸͍̾l̸̻̉o̴̳̎n̴̛͕e̶͚͘..."

The two women moved to Luna's side, eyes locked on the repeating message. Alpha had been on her phone in the basement when the static hit, while Liv had seen the same message appear across the store's screens. Both rushed up to warn Luna, only to find it already happening there.

"... Liv," Luna murmured under her breath. "Initiate Babylon Protocol."

Her friend nodded, and almost immediately, across New Eridu, devices broke down—TVs, radios, phones, the network. In an instant, every means of communication was gone, except theirs.
