11 years later.....
Days, weeks, months, years has passed, moments have been filled. We're growing old and so is our kids. It feels like only yesterday, Dulcie was born, and she was the happiest baby girl I have ever seen. Years later, Nicholas was born and he was the most curious little one while growing up. Me and Dakota have been nothing but a stronger couple every day, some people say that after years of marriage, it wouldn't be exciting anymore. But in our case, it's different. I loved her more and more every second.
"Are you set?" I ask Dulcie.
She settles her bags inside the trunk of our car and puts her carry-on at the back seat.
"I'm all set, dad"
"Let's go then" She slides in and takes out her phone and starts looking for the aux cord connected to the car's speakers.
"Nicholas let's go!" Dakota screams from the outside of our door. Nicholas is taking forever to get ready.
"I'm here mom!" He passes through Dakota and gets in the back seat of the car. My wife locks the door and settles herself in the passenger's seat. I start the engine of the car and from there, the whole journey was quiet.
We arrive at King Cross Station an hour later. We are just in time as the train starts to move. We settle in our places and just like the car ride here......everyone was quiet.
After an hour on the train we finally arrived at Cambridge. My sister was waiting for us outside the station to drive us to where we're going.
"Dornans!" My sister, who's wearing a trench coat and a black tinted glasses, screamed from her car holding a paper saying "Dornan Family"
"Hey, how are you? Thank you for doing this okay! I'm so glad you're in the area" I said, if it wasn't for her it would've been a hassle, with all our luggage, calling a cab.
It took us about 10 minutes to arrive in our location. And when I finally see the gates of the community opened, I can't help but feel extremely emotional.
I look at Dakota who's clutching her coat, and biting her lip. Her eyes are all teary and her face is starting to grow pale. Our fears has been long realized.
"This is it" My sister parks her car in at an empty lot next to an Renaissance looking building. I look at Dulcie who's grasping her hands tightly at the edge of her seat. She looks at me and Dakota and gives us a comforting smile.
"I'll be okay, mom and dad" she whispers. She gets out of the car and opens the trunk, she gathers her luggage and swings her carry-on over her shoulder.
A young and fine looking gentleman approaches Dulcie and helps her with her bags. "Welcome to Cambridge University! You are?" he said in his most decent tone.
"Dulcie Dornan" she replies. Noticing that Blush stretching across her face.
"Freshmen?" he asks.
"Yes, I'm actually heading to my dorm room now"
"I'm Thomas, It's my second year in Cambridge. I'd be willing to give you a tour of the grounds after you've settled in. We're in the same dorm" He said beaming at my beautiful daughter. Oh, a father's worst fear. I don't want to lose her to another man.
