Jaila's POV:
[A/N: Our outfits: ------>]
"Babe?" He called from the kitchen. "Yeah?" I called back from the living room. I was on the couch watching CMT.
Hunter and I have been together for 2 years now, and everything is wonderful. He's such a gentlemen. I visited him in Breaux Bridge, then we moved up here to Nashville with his family 3 years ago. We've been best friends since we were 2, 'cause our mom's knew each other since they were our age. We live on our own now, just a couple miles from his parents' house.
"Can you come here for a second?" He sounded nervous.
"Yeah..." Confused, I turned the tv off, and got up. When I walked in, he was leaning against the counter, looking at his phone, his strong arms crossed over his chest. "What's up, babe?" I walked up to him and pecked his lips.
His t-shirt let me see his ripped abs and his biceps tightened a little. That always happened when he's mad or stressed, which isn't very often. He sighed, setting his phone down beside him on the counter. He stuck his thumbs in the front belt loops of his jeans. He avoided eye contact with me, looking at the floor that separated us. "I'm going to West Nashville for a few days. They want me to do some demo tracks."
I looked at him, shocked. I smiled. "Hunter, that's great!" I hugged him. He hugged back. "But I'm leaving in a week." I pulled away. "A week? How long have you known about this?" "Since right now." I started to cry a bit. I just "started", so I'm a bit hormonal. He walked toward me. "Baby, listen-" I let a tear fall.
"Shhh... You're okay, sweetheart. You're okay... I'll be back." He hugged me tight, like he always does, and stroked my hair. His grip was always strong. "Look at me, Jay." He lifted my head up to meet his crystal blue eyes. "I love you so much." He kissed me.
I kissed him back, running my fingers through his dirty blond spiked hair. I calmed down. He pulled away. I yawned. He pecked my lips. "Come on. Let's go to bed." I nodded. So we went to bed.
The next morning...
I woke up to the smell of coffee and saw his side of the bed empty. I sat up, and walked into the bathroom to brush my teeth and hair. After I did that, I grabbed my robe and stuck my phone in a pocket. I walked downstairs to hear Hunter talking quietly on the phone with someone in the kitchen.
He was already dressed in another muscle t-shirt [oh lord... ;)], jeans, socks and shoes. "Ok... Well let me think about it. Alright... Bye." He hung up and sighed.
I smirked a little and leaned up against the corner of the kitchen wall, my arms crossed in front of my chest, my right foot crossed over my left.
He ran his fingers through his messy, dirty blond hair. He turned around. I smiled slightly. "Morning." He smiled. "Hello, beautiful." He walked over to me and kissed me, his hands on my waist. I wrapped my arms around his neck. I pulled away.
He sighed. "I'm sorry. I'll call them back later. I just need time to think." He walked over to the couch in the middle cushion and sat down, looking out the window to his left. He rested his forearms on his knees, his hands clasped together tight.
I walked over to him and rubbed his shoulders. "It's your dream, Hunter. This is a once in a lifetime chance. If you want to go..." I teared up a little, but quickly calmed down. "...That's fine." He grabbed my hands, kissing them. "But..." He sat up straighter and sighed.
"But what?" I walked around and sat down beside him on his left, my legs on his lap. I wrapped my arms around his middle. I looked up at him and tried to meet his ocean blue eyes, that still make me melt to this day, even though I'm used to it now. "I don't wanna leave you. Or my home." He looked me in the eyes.
"I know you don't. And I don't want you to leave, either." He sighed and looked away. Tears filled his eyes. "Then I won't leave."
After a moment or two of silence...
"What's your dream?" He sniffed and looked to the right at one of his many guitars, which was leaning up against the wall. "To be a musician." "Look at me." He turned and looked at me. A tear silently fell down his cheek.
"Is that what you wanna do?" He hesitated for a moment. He nodded. I wiped the tear from his cheek. "Then do it." He gently kissed my forehead. "But what about you?" "Huh?" I raised my left eyebrow.
He smirked a little. "Tell me what you gonna do when I'm gone?" He sang. He wrote 'What You Gonna Do' about 3 years ago. I teared up, thinking about what I would do without him. Nothing. I can't live without him.
"Oh and where you gonna go when there's nobody home? And who's gonna love you when you're all alone...? Tell me what you gonna do when I'm gone... Yeah what you gonna do when I'm gone?" He sang in my ear. I looked into his crystal blue eyes. "Love that song."
"Jaila, I'm being serious!" He stared at me, his expression changed. I sighed. "I know you are! I was just trying to lighten the mood!" I got up and walked over by the tv. He got up. "Well..." He sighed. "Sorry. I really wanna go-" "Then go-"
"-But I don't wanna leave you behind." He said, while walking up to me. "If this is what you wanna do, then do it. You've been doing it for years, Hunter." He sighed. I got an idea. "Where's your phone?" He gave me a confused look. "Babe. I need to do something to it."
He pulled his phone out from his pocket and handed it to me. I took it and went to his recent calls. The first one was the people from the company apparently. "Babe, what are you-" "Here." I handed him his phone.
He looked at it. "Are you sure, bunny?" He has always called me that since I was 4. I have always loved bunnies, so that's what he's called me since. I nodded, holding back tears. He pressed a button and called the company back. "Hey. It's Hunter Hayes. I've made my decision... I'll do it."
The next few days were spent just being lazy and packing and spending as much time together as we could before he had to leave. When he did leave...
Flashback to yesterday...
Everyone (our friends, me and his family) were out on the sidewalk in front of Hunters' car and our house. He looked at each of us. He bro-hugged or hugged our friends and his family. When he came to me, he pulled me into a really tight hug.
I teared up, hugging him back. "Shhh... You're okay, bunny... You're okay..." He whispered in my ear. "I'm gonna miss you, Hunter." I looked into his crystal, dark, ocean blue eyes. "I'm gonna miss you too, Jaila." He kissed me.
I kissed him back. I didn't want that moment to end, but sadly, he pulled away. "I love you so much, bunny." He brought his index finger and his middle finger together, kissed them and set them on my lips. He always did that when he was leaving for the grocery store or something.
"I love you too, boo." He quickly kissed me again, setting his hands on my waist. He pulled me closer. I kissed him back, deepening it. My hands gripped the bottom of his t-shirt. He moaned a little, as he pulled away. "I love you so much, bunny."
"I love you too, babe."
He grabbed his keys from his back pocket of his jeans. He looked back at me and licked his lips. He did the same action with his fingers and held them up to my lips. He walked to his car. He took one last look at us, before opening the door, getting in, and shutting the door behind him. He started up the car, rolled down the window, and drove off. That was the last time I saw Hunter Easton Hayes, my boyfriend of 2 years.
