Chapter 23: Finale

N I C O L E ' S P O V:

I WOKE STRAIGHT to the sound of Tess's screams, as my mom rushed in first, and then my dad and Uncle Wally zoomed into my room.

Iris: What's wrong?

MOM SAID, her voice groggy from sleep.

Barry: Tess, honey? Nikki, baby girl?

Wally: Sweetheart, are you okay?

TESS TREMBLES as her lip quivers.

Tess: Glow... glowing green... on our necks. I went to the bathroom. I saw it on my neck, and then I lay back down and saw Nikki's neck glowed, too.

TESS WAS SHAKING. She was so scared, so I reached for her and held her close, and she slightly calmed down.

Wally: H-how?

Barry: Well... Tess was kidnapped, and Aria drugged Nicole. Is Aria a meta?

Nicole: I don't know. Do you think they did something to us?

Iris: Or put something in you...

Nicole: Like a chip? A tracking chip??

TESS SHUTTERED as she got up from my bed and ran to my bathroom to throw up in the toilet.

Wally: I got her.

I NODDED as I watched Uncle Wally tend to his daughter.

T E S S ' S P O V:

I WAS throwing up, must be something I ate. As I heard the door open. I felt someone hold my hair and rub my back in a circular motion as I puked more.

Wally: I'm here, baby girl, I'm here.

I FINISH throwing up as I turn and launch myself into my dad's arms and cry. he held me tight.

Wally: Shh, you're okay, I promise.

HE SAID softly as he caressed my hair while holding me. I raised and looked at him.

Tess: I'm scared...

Wally: I know, baby.

I PULLED away from his embrace and threw up in the toilet again as my dad held my hair.

Tess: What- what is wrong with me?

AS I THREW UP again, I felt so bad as I finished, now I feel hungry.

Tess: I'm hungry...

I WHINE. As I looked at my dad.

Wally: Do you feel different?

Tess: I want something I never had before... Daddy?

Wally: Hmm?
