Chapter 23 "Covered in blood"

*THURSDAY NIGHT, 10:03 PM*
You got up and turned off all the lights and got a camping lantern out of a closet, then headed back to your place in the living room. Once you had sat back down on your sleeping bag with the lantern turned on at the foot of your sleeping bag, (which was basically the middle of the room) Naruto said you should all do rock-paper-scissors to decide what order to tell stories.

Hinata was up first, then Shikamaru, after him it was Kiba, then it was Neji's turn, then Naruto, by the time it was your turn, you and Hinata were semi inside your sleeping bags clutching each other out of fear and Sasuke had scooted closer in an attempt to comfort you. You got up shakily and Hinata converted to clutching onto closest living thing which happened to be Neji's arm.

You took a few steps forward and tried calming yourself down to set the mood for your story, after a couple "It's fine (y/n), they're just stories! You're meant to be scared!" You put on the creepiest grin you could muster and began; "ok Kiba this one is special," you began, glancing at him and Akamaru "Once there was a a beautiful young girl who lived in a small town just south of Farmersburg. Her parents had to go to town for a while, so they left their daughter home alone, but protected by her dog, which was a very large collie. The parents told the girl to lock all the windows and doors after they had left. And at about 8:00pm the parents went to town. So doing what she was told the girl shut and locked every window and every door. But there was one window in the basement that would not close completely.

Trying as best as she could she finally got the window shut, but it wouldn't lock. So she left the window, and went back upstairs. But just to make sure that no one could get in, she put the dead-bolt lock on the basement door.

Then she sat down had some dinner and decided to go to sleep for the night. Settling down to sleep at about 12:00 she snuggled up with the dog and fell asleep.

But at one point, she suddenly woke up. She turned and looked at the clock...it was 2:30. She snuggled down again wondering what had woken her.....when she heard a noise. It was a dripping sound. She thought that she had left the water running, and now it was dripping into the drain of her sink. So thinking it was no big deal she decided to go back to sleep.

But she felt nervous so she reached her hand over the edge of her bed, and let the dog lick her hand for reassurance that he would protect her. Again at about 3:45 she woke up hearing dripping. She was slightly angry now but went back to sleep anyway. Again she reached down and let the dog lick her hand. Then she fell back to sleep.

At 6:52 the girl decided that she had had enough...she got up just in time to see her parents were pulling up to the house. "Good,"she thought. "Now somebody can fix the sink...'cause I know I didn't leave it running." She walked to the bathroom and there was the collie dog, skinned and hung up on the curtain rod. The noise she heard was its blood dripping into a puddle on the floor. The girl screamed and ran to her bedroom to get a weapon, in case someone was still in the house.....and there on the floor, next to her bed she saw a small note, written in blood, saying: Humans- can lick- too" you drew out the words for the finish and glanced around the room to see if your story had successfully scared anyone, everybody was pretty much the same as when you began the story except for two, Hinata was staring at you with a horrified expression and Kiba had gone from nervously petting Akamaru, to hugging his neck and as Akamaru turned to lick Kiba on the cheek, he visibly shuddered. To this you smiled with satisfaction that it scared somebody and went back to your sleeping bag.

Sasuke stood and walked to stand in the middle of the room over the lamp, "This is a story about a baby sitter," he began, you and Hinata exchanged confused glances and turned back to Sasuke, "there was this family, I'll call them the Aogami family, Mr and Mrs Aogami wanted to go out for dinner, the only problem was they had three kids and none of them were old enough to reliably take care of them selves, so they called a babysitter, told her the kids were already in bed and that she didn't need to check on them if she didn't want to, I'll call her Rena, so Rena went to kitchen and started doing homework because she was in highschool also, the phone rang and she answered in case it was Mr or Mrs Aogami calling to check in, "have you checked on the children?" A man asked and then hung up.

Rena was confused but went back to her homework, a little while later the phone rang again and she answered, "Hi is everything ok?" Mr Aogami asked, she said "Yea everything is fine, did you call a few minutes ago?" "No I didn't." He told her, they finished up their call and she got back to work, a while later the phone rang again and she answered "Why haven't you checked on the children" and man said almost angry, Rena asked "who is this?!" She was getting kind of scared but the voice hung up and she called the police. The dispatcher said they would monitor the joys and that if he called again they would trace the call to where it was coming from. Rena went to work again and about half an hour later the man called again "You should really check on the children." The voice said and hung up again the phone rang again a couple seconds later and it was the dispatcher, "Rena, we traced the call and it's coming from somewhere inside the house! Get out of there!" Rena hung up and bolted for the front door and frantically tried to unlock it, she figured out the doorknob and yanked but the deadbolt was still locked, as she fumbled with the lock out of the corner of her eye she saw the kids bedroom door open at the top of the stairs and a man stepped out... covered- in- blood. Sasuke drew out the last words like you had and as he headed back to his sleeping bag, everyone turned their eyes to the hallway that connected the living room, kitchen, front door, and stairs.
