Chapter 5- Family Is Everything

Owen's POV

I woke up to only hear the sounds of crashing of waves. I sat up and looked around. Ilsa Nublar, I can recognize it like the back of my hand. I stood up and wiped the dirt like sand of my clothes. Then my mind switched to the more important things. Claire and her nephews. A few meters away lay Gray. I limped over to where he lay. He was wasn't breathing. I started to pump on his chest. I needed to wake him up. He couldn't die.

Claire's POV

Zach and I have been traveling for what seems like hours. I tried calling for help, but my phone cracked during the crash.

"Claire! Look!" Zach shouted. We had lost the dinosaur a while back and now we were looking for shelter. "A cave! We can spend the night there right?"

"I think we can," I said to the seventeen year-old. Even though I'm his aunt, I'm only 34. I was 16 when he was born, but my sister is in her 40s, closer to 50s. I guess that's what makes me the younger sister. Zach and I approached the cave-like shelter. This would be a somewhat home now.

Zach had tried to gather food, but only ended up getting a couple of coconuts. I, however, was lucky to gather firewood, and had managed to create a small fire in the back of the cave, so it wouldn't attract any unwanted creatures.

Neither of us we in the talking mood, so my mind began to drift. Was Owen alright? Is Gray okay? Are they alive? I needed to know. A tear slipped my eyes with the dark circles under them. I was exhausted .

"Do you think they're okay? Gray and Owen?" Zach asked me. I sighed and looked up at him. I truly didn't know if they okay. Zach seemed to get that I couldn't answer his question, he sighed and took my hand. "Listen, they're okay. Owen can handle himself, and he's saved both Gray and myself before, I think he can handle one of us," he smiled. I gave him a small smile in return and responded,

"Thank you."

I couldn't let my family down, not now, not ever.
