~Rawiya
We all stripped down (much to the blatant astonishment of Reece) folded our clothes and tucked them in seperate trees. Then we all shifted. I hadn't, much to my annoyance, grown an inch in the past two years. Sure, had in human form (I had grown one and a half inches if we must be precise) but my wolf was still the same size.
In other words, I was really short. I was about two-thirds the size of a normal wolf Changer, and next to an Alpha, I would look even smaller. Still, we loped along in the forest, Reece being dragged along by a shifted Tyrone. My Beta looked nervous to be going home after all this time. After all, he had disappeared without a trace just over two years ago.
I called a couple of the younger pups before we left. It would do them good to see their Alpha's rival. Well, that and they were driving their poor, nonChanger mothers up the den wall.
The instant we entered their territory, their hostility slammed into me. I kept Tyrone shielded by two normal wolves from the Ring, who were just as strong as a Changer, should they attack him. Unfortunately, Tyrone had to be the one to contact them. He was my Beta, posing as the Alpha of the Mist Rock Pack, so it would be rude to do anything less.
I saw him stiffen as he broad-casted our entrance into their territory. I hoped he was using his fake voice (I had taught him how to change his mental voice) because otherwise it would take forever to get this over with. Although, even if they saw him, they might not recognize him.
His physical condition had greatly increased from constant tussling with me, and now he was about the size of an average Alpha. The white bird-mark on his chest had faded (luckily) to a shape that looked kind of like a bear. It was creepy-weird, but it would hinder them in recognizing him. If he shifted to human, though, he might be recognized.
Apparently, they hadn't recognized him because five Changers appeared a couple minutes later. There were two were females with russet coats (litter-mates) and the males were grey, brown and a mix of the two respectively.
The five gave Tyrone a couple of strange looks, like they were trying to remember him, but Reece caught their attention. The Deep Forest's Changers bared their teeth. Reece snarled, but retreated as far as he could without the silver bindings digging into his flesh. Tyrone spoke.
"We are returning this to you. It strayed onto our territory." I made sure to look as inconspicuous as possible, pasting myself to Tyrone's side. Whenever we went into enemy territory, we always made it look like I was Tyrone's little mate, along for the ride. Letting them know I was the Alpha would cause them to underestimate us-something the Ring wolves didn't like too much.
Being underestimated was aggravating, I had to admit, and when my wolves were aggravated, I couldn't guarantee their opponent's safety. I would kill anyone who underestimated me in a heartbeat, just like any other Ring wolf in my Pack.
The larger russet wolf stepped forwards. "Thank you," she bowed her head. "Alpha Blitz will be pleased." Again, the name made me shiver. Tyrone's eyes snapped to me, and he lowered his muzzle to my ear. His breath tickled my inner ear fur.
"Are you alright, Ella?" I liked his nickname for me. It was a lot better than being called Gabela. My name wasn't well-known, except to a few, and sometimes I didn't want myself being identified as her-well, me. The grey-brown male flung his head in the direction of the pack houses.
"Come with us," he said gruffly. Then the five turned and began padding towards the Alpha. My skin crawled with anticipation. My wolves cast subtle glances towards me, and I tipped my head slightly. I nudged Tyrone, and he nodded to them. It was better that they thought that we had a strong Alpha male. Less antagonizing.
