You remember that day when it happened. You were wishing good night to your parents. You opened the door and, stepping forward, you noted yourself in an unusual place: It was not your bedroom. You were in the middle of a street and busy, but it was different, it was another world. You looked back and no longer saw the door of your room. You were elsewhere. In Narnia. But that day you did not know it yet. Months have passed since then. Six months, actually. How things have changed ...
Someone interrupts your thoughts.
- (Y / N), come see! The Kings and Queens are going through the street. - The lady who hosts you calls you. You live with her since you came out of nowhere in Narnia in the Golden Age. Aslan had appeared one day to this lady asking to accommodate you in her house for a while, and told you not to worry because everything one day somehow make sense.
And that's all you know.
You get up from the kitchen chair, holding the faded brown dress you're wearing and out the door toward the street.
From time to time the beloved Kings and Queens of old, the Pevensie brothers, range throughout Narnia and surroundings, finding the people in order to learn better the situation and needs of each person, not to mention that they love to be helpful and have contact with everyone.
You feel uncomfortable.
"Oh, no! Look at these youngsters arond me. All with fine hair strokes, the well-made dresses and in great condition. While I'm in this dress faded and lifeless, and my smooth long hair dull. How can I draw attention of the High King Peter?", you think to yourself.
And there you notice Lucy, Susan, Edmund and Peter on their horses, approaching. Peter and Edmund go down the horses to greet some ladies and gentlemen and some young centaurs. The people applauded and celebrated. All very smiling. You? Only rubbing your hair, trying to look a little better. They approach and, frustrated, you fight against your own feelings and try not to look at Peter.
"What a fool am I! How someone like him could look at me... Others here will steal the attention for sure." You think.
They approach.
The lady who lives with you, so excited, drops the fruit basket off her hand.
- It's ok, Mrs Gunpper, I take it.
You adjusts your dress, stay on kneels and begins to put the fruit in the basket. When you realize, a pair of male hands begin to help you. You raise your eyes.
- U-um ... Majesty !! - You say nervously.
You bow.
- Oh no. No need to bend. - Peter say. - Here, your basket. - He reached the basket, smiling.
- Thanks. - You take the basket, but your hand touches his. You feel your cheeks grow warm and his eyes meet yours.
You change the direction of gaze and realize that the other Pevensies approaches. You, along with others who were close to you and Mrs Gunpper, bow. They wave and bow their heads, and show a big smile. They ask how everybody is and all respond positively. You realize that while you are looking at them, Peter watches you with a deep look. You look at him and he looks away. He turns and goes to talk to the other people there.
You see Peter turning to talk to another young women and you start to feel discourage and down.
- Mrs. Gunpper, I'm going back to inside the house.
- Soon, (Y/N)? Stay a little bit, while they are here.
- No, it's ok. I've seen enough. - you say, forcing a smile.
You turn back entering home, when you hear someone screming "HEY, YOU!'
You look back and see Peter runing towards you.
- Sorry, but what's your name?
- Um... It's (Y/N).
- So (y/n), this is for you... - he reaches a white rose.
You both smiles. Peter gives you a wink and goes away.
