Valentina pov
My mind was fixated to that one incident and additionally, with mixed thoughts.
I couldn't get over the incident but I still couldn’t bring myself to confront.
My heartbeat peeled whenever I think of forgiveness.
I saw viven coming, a bit nervous but in her usual way.
She was bowing to one of the collegue, I was noticing her from afar.
She noticed.
I shifted my gaze, pretended to be busy.
She waited so I could met my eyes with her again.
She waved me hi.
Her smile smells pretentious.
And it is weird.
Because this woman has the most geninune smile I ever met.
But now it changed everything.
I waved her back and she turned to her usual work.
I rubbed my finger, should I ask?
The indecisive carried on my views.
The viven came in front of me as usual.
Without any guilt or anything?
Is she not bothered at all?
I pulled my breath back, took a closer look.
Of my friend. My dearest and only friend I made throughout my whole life.
A last glimpse.
Because things could change with a sentence.
I felt my voice little cracked, I checked myself a bit.
So she wouldn't get a clue.
" Do you know Yuma will be releasing a new book?"
I picked a random thought. So I could ask.
I pushed myself to believe that if she spoke truth, I will surely forgive her.
Maybe a last bet on our precious friendship.
" Crystal, how many times do I have to tell? Get over him. He is no good."
" And why would I know anything beside you told me about that corn head."
So confidence. Do liars hold high courage?
My eyes in little heat.
I think I lost my bet. And I didn't even begin my query.
For what should I blame you?
Taking my love or taking my friendship.
I smiled with her.
" How is your mother?" I asked.
She turned bit alert, I noticed a bit change.
"Did you come to hospital?" She countered.
" No." I replied. "I heard from one of your co worker, he told me that your other mother got attack."
She turned bit relieved.
" I called you multiple times. You didn't answered." I added.
"Sorry. I didn't realised. She is so much better."
" It must be hard doing whole things alone." A final question and final chance.
Please for the sake of our friendship. Viven, speak a little truth.
" yeah but I handled quite well."
You finally decided it.
So the decision was not if extinction but a pre planned.
" Pizza treat in my home. As a sorry compensation. You know, we always do that."
"Yeah." But do you always lie or should I be clear betray?
But deep inside, my wrecked heart knows the truth.
The hate was not for a silly lie or a huge betray.
The hate was seeped by the envy.
Taking the one thing I wished to have once I my lifetime.
You snatched my pride, my hope, my truth.
And she left.
I checked the time.
Should I confront? Break this friendship for once and all?
Or keep this grief sealed in my heart.
So Indecisive.
At her home, I was seeing her preparing pizza.
Ohh, isn't it weird that how we compenseated our mistakes with a treat.
I hope that pizza must be the most delicious feast I ever had.
Because this grief, the mistake viven you did, couldn't be forgetten by a slice of pizza.
I had some.
" Eat more, you are getting skinnier day by day." Her in her concerning tone.
"Diet." I replied.
" What? Diet. You are already skinny." And she stuffed a slice of pizza in my mouth.
I was almost got choked. And it made me flashback of our old times.
She chuckled, looking at me.
I bit smiled, but my eyes almost teary.
I gulped it down.
" You are crying? " she was concerned.
" No, the slice was too much for me." I wiped my face a bit with tissue.
" Is something wrong?" Her eyes were curious. Maybe she sensed something is off.
But my friend, everything was off.
" Nothing, just tired from work." I replied without an eye contact.
I got up." I have to take my phone. I think aizen will need me. I have to go."
I said so she wouldn't ask me further question.
About to pick a phone, I noticed oven was still on.
Empty.
My fingers bit curled. I asked myself.
Should i close it. I took a fainted glimpse of her.
She looked bit confused.
She would know herself that it was on.
I left without a phone.
Hands on my steering.
I still have chance. Should I tell?
But she would see. Right??
But if she didn't.
But oven beeps too. She would probably get a notice.
But she didn't get the idea of it before.
My mind almost fogged. I looked at building again and again.
The clock is tickling. The wrist watch felt like an alarm on my hand.
A silent bomb.
I start the car and put it in fast pace. So I could never shift my mind again.
She would noticed it for sure, I shouldn't be empathetic to her.
Viven pov
My head screamed, warning me against an odd.
Her facial expression, bit change, not enough to took a hint.
My mind wanders thinking of her tone.
Is she still upset about yuma thing?
I wondered what will happen if I told her about it.
Would she leave me? Or even worse.
Am I selfish to long both things at same time while snatching hers both.
But did I really snatched? And what I snatched?
Yuma would never date her even if I wouldn't.
And I didn't change. I am the same as always.
What choice was for me to left?
So lost in thought, tap running. Soap on my hand.
I didn't heard a loud beeps until it was hard to ignore.
And I heard the last one.
Boom.
The whole place almost on fire in spark of second.
My face got bit burned. I was burning in pain.
Skin felt as if it was peeling. To hard to bear.
Smoke in my nasal, I coughed loud and continously.
The door almost felt invisible to reach. And my mind turned foggy.
I accidently put a hand on my pocket. I felt phone bulging out.
I immediately sent location to firefighters.
My head dizzy, I reached to call Crystal.
She must be near. She will reach me soon.
It was unreachable.
I called multiple times, hoping she would pick but she didn't.
I was losing control and the flames were increasing the trmperature.
I focused a bit.
Bit before that, I took some safe place.
Far away from flames to reach me. I called yuma with teary eyes.
A last hope. And he picked it.
I couldn't talk, I was having trouble in breathing.
I exhaled loud.
"Home...Home" all I could speak before fainting.
Yuma pov
I saw her phone call.
My stomach with butterflies, I answered.
I heard her voice. I took a jacket and ran to my car.
