Claire got out of the shower feeling relaxed, refreshed, energised even. She needed something in her life but was not quite sure what it was. For so many years sex had been self administered and when she was married it was joyless. She had heard of multiple orgasms and believed it to be a myth, she now knew it wasn't. Claire knew there was something missing in her life, it was intimacy, she had never had that. Her ex, who she only thought of as 'the pig', didn't give her any, her parents had been remote and in some cases verbally abusive. Now for the first time in her life she had friends, people who did not judge. It came as a sudden revelation and something of a shock to realise she was attracted in particular to Emma. They were of a similar age and seemed to have a lot in common, she felt that it would be unwise to make her feelings known.
Claire was unaware that Emma was no stranger to a same sex dalliance. There had been nobody serious in Emma's life for years since her late husband died. He was the love of her life and she was devastated when he passed. She eventually had a short affair with a man but it was unfulfilling and she dropped him. She fell into a relationship of a few months with a woman, it was short lived but opened up a whole new horizon. A series of one nighters commenced but Emma felt that there could be nobody serious, she had Erin to consider. Even after Erin left for college and subsequently married she had found nobody she wanted to settle with. She had been pleased with Erin's choice of partner and felt that Charles was quite a lot like her late loved husband. She was not really aware that she was ready for a relationship but Erin could see that her Mother needed one. The need was, as Erin saw it, behind the desire to regress Charlotte, to have someone to concentrate on. Erin knew of her Mother's lesbian tastes and knew that as far as her Mother was concerned no man could replace her father. Erin had noticed subtle behaviour changes when Claire was around. from the outset
Emma found herself thinking more about Claire. She liked Claire from the first proper conversation despite the reputation she had as a gossip. As it turned out the reputation was false and deliberately built by Claire's ex to isolate her and make sure that anything she said about him was not believed, Emma saw beyond that. Almost from the beginning she felt a gentle flutter in her stomach, butterflies, when Claire visited. She thought about telling Claire that but was not sure how it would be received, she did not want to destroy a friendship, it had been a long time since she felt that way. Should she tell Erin how she felt? How would she take it.
Erin and Emma were out for dinner while Claire was 'babysitting'. Erin was aware that Emma wanted to tell her something but was beating around the bush. An exasperated Erin finally said 'just tell me Mum', Emma blushed like a schoolgirl and blurted out 'I like Claire, I mean I like her a lot'. Erin patted her Mother's hand 'I know Mum'. Emma looked up 'you do?', Erin nodded 'you are different when Claire is around', Emma had not realised that so Erin added 'lovestruck teenager', they both laughed 'go for it Mum, I think she might be receptive', she knew Claire would be, she had seen the same look on Claire's face. Erin smiled, two women in their mid 40's and both looking 10 years younger, they deserve an emotional anchor Erin decided, they would be good for each other. Emma was only 18 when Erin was born and her darling late husband 19 at the time.
As they walked home Emma began to get tense, how would she approach Claire? what is she was rebuffed? All kinds of doubts were rushing through her head 'relax' counselled Erin 'if it is meant to be it will be'. Emma took comfort, her daughter was always mature and grounded from a young age. Emma made up her mind.
Emma entered the house first, strode with a purpose into the lounge, sat on the sofa where Claire was, leaned in and kissed Claire on the lips, after the initial shock Claire returned the kiss, the kiss turned into a full on embrace. Erin broke the spell 'can I assume you two schoolgirls want to spend the night together', the schoolgirls giggled 'yes please Miss' giggled Claire. Erin turned so that Claire could not see her suppressed laugh, she might take it the wrong way, Erin was pleased, she just knew. Claire whispered to Emma 'I have never been with a woman', Emma kissed her cheek, 'you will love it'. Erin had left the room and returned with a bottle of wine and three glasses.
Several glasses and a second bottle later the 'schoolgirls' sheepishly retired, hand in hand to bed. Erin sat quietly and finished off the wine, she was certain that this would be a long term relationship, they were well suited. It would shift their focus away from Charlotte to a degree, not a bad thing as she had been thinking of cutting Charlotte some slack for a while. She still loved Charlotte but things could never go back to husband and wife, anyway Charlotte seemed to be very happy with things as they were and Erin could not deny she liked having a maid. That had become obvious during the week that Charlotte had become regressed by Mother and Erin found herself and Mum doing housework, it was then she decided that as long as Charlotte was happy then she would have a maid. Erin had never seen herself as particularly dominant but Charlotte was totally obedient and even Mother would back down if Erin was insistent.
Emma had always been prone to a temper outburst time to time if something really upset her but Erin was not like that. Emma was always impressed that Erin kept her cool no matter what, even as a child there were no temper fits. Emma's late husband David was like that, Erin definitely inherited that trait, if you cannot get under someone's skin you can't defeat them.
