After the whole thing with that "imitation" thing, Koichi and them never really felt that I was safe or anything - as if I totally couldn't handle anything as weak as that - so they debated for an hour and decided I would have a bodyguard.
"Yes, Tama-chan! You need a guard since the KAC are after you and they will be until you're dead!"
"KOKOROS DO NOT NEED GUARDS."
"Well, you do!"
"NO."
And then Sayuri stopped talking to me, for some reason. It left me kinda sad, but I don't know why. I mean, it's not like I feel anything for her. Why would I? We're on separate ends of the scale. She's a lowly motion Yuki, and I'm a Kokoro.
So yeah.

The hall was filled with people. I made my way through the sea of people, shoving through what felt like five miles of crowded halls before finally getting to my class. The desk next to me, which was usually empty, had a girl sitting in it. She wore a gray sweatshirt. Her hair was black and hanging over her right eye. She was twirling a pencil with her left hand, and hiding her thumbs. As soon as she spotted me, however, she slammed the pencil down and slid her left hand off the desk, as if she didn't want me to see it. She didn't move it fast enough though, because I saw the clan mark on her hand.
She was a Kokoro Elemental.
I tried to act normal as I sat down at my desk, but as the whole day wore on, I didn't stop thinking about that clan mark.
"...re you listening?"
"Huh?"
"I asked you if you know where Sayuri is." Koichi repeated.
"No. I haven't seen her since yesterday."
Koichi sighed and turned away, waving a simple goodbye as he returned to his desk.
I glanced behind me at Sayuri's empty desk as the teacher walked up to the board. Most people where here already, save for Sayuri, obviously, and a few others.
"CLAHSS!" she snapped, slapping the board with an old pointer stick, scaring the whole class. "TODAY WE AHRE LEAHNING ABAUHT ELEMENTAHLS." She pointed to me, to which I reacted by standing up immediately. "AKIYAMA. COME UP HEARE."
"Y-yes ma'am!" I'm not scared by much, but if you want to give me a good scare, slap Ms. Kawaguchi in a horror movie.
"MR. AND MR. HISAGAWA, YUKIMURA. COME UP HEARE AS WEHLL." she slithered. Koichi and Takumi immediately rushed to the front of the class next to me. Sayuri, of course, didn't do anything. She couldn't, since she wasn't even there. I'm sure she heard her though, since her voice is SO DAMN LOUD.
"TELL US ABAUHT ELEMENTAHLS." she snapped.
"uh..." Koichi glanced at me.
"We're all FRIENDS, I guess." Takumi coughed loudly at the "friends" part.
"Yeah. No rivalries whatsoever," Koichi laughed.
"WAHT ABAUHT THE KOIND THAHT DOIED AOUHT?" Ms. Kawaguchi insisted. "TELL US ABAUHT THOUSE."
"They were awful," I said. Koichi and Takumi looked at me weird. The girl in the desk next to me flinched.
"What'd they do that was so awful?" asked a random kid.
"They... Well, if they used enough of their powers, they lost their soul. After that, they would do horrible things. Not like they didn't before..." I trailed off, remembering my own days of killing.
"And then we have the other clans, of course!" Koichi laughed. "Raito is, obviously, the best clan."
"Even though we're ranked fourth on the list and the clan community is in deep financial troubles," Takumi added.
"How many clans are there?"
"Four in Japan, one that died." I answered. "...For the better."
"Why do you hate the Dead Clan so much?"
Koichi and Takumi glanced at me, clearly interested in the answer that I'd give.
I decided to lie. "Well, I... I knew an Elemental from the Dead Clan, a long time ago."
"What did he do to you?" someone asked.
"He killed my family."
The whole class was silent. On the other hand, Koichi, Takumi and I were on the verge of bursting out laughing. My family was still alive, for all I knew, and I had never met another Kokoro in my life.
After class, Koichi and Takumi met up with me in the hallway.
"Great show, Kokoro," Takumi joked.
"Don't call me that."
"What, Kokoro?"
"Yeah, Kokoro."
"Why nooooot?" Koichi begged. "It's a cool name!!"
"No, it's not, if you know the history behind the clan."
"BUT I DO!!! Let me call you Kokoroooooo,"
"No."
"PLEASE?!"
"Koichi, he obviously is not okay with being called Kokoro." Takumi jumped in.
"...Okay..."
"Obviously he prefers Koko-chan!"
"K-KOKO-CHAN?! NO NO NO, YOU HAVE IT ALL WRONG!" I exclaimed quickly.
Yeesh. How did I even end up with these people anyway?
