"You imposter." Koichi slammed his foot onto Takumi's face.

"Koichi! What are you-" Sayuri, who I had just realized was there, cut me off.

"Takumi's right here." She pointed to him.

"We have to get out of here. I think they're watching you." Takumi said.

"Who?" Koichi grabbed my arm and began running, pulling me behind him.

"That's not important." Koichi said calmly. "What's important is that we get you out of here."

I glanced toward Sayuri, who shrugged.

"They just pulled me along. I have no idea what they're talking about."

I sighed, running faster than I've ever run before to keep up with Koichi and them. I made a wrong step and ran into a tree, face-first.

"Really, Tamotsu?!" Takumi scoffed, motioning to Koichi to keep running.

Soon we came to this old shack, looking like someone abandoned it long ago. Koichi kicked the door in and pulled me inside, with Takumi following.

"I-I'm not going in there," Sayuri stammered, shaking her head nervously.

"Oh, come on." Koichi rolled his eyes. "What's so bad about it?"

"Um, first of all, the SPIDERWEBS!!" Sayuri near screamed.

"That doesn't mean that there are... um... What do you think are in there because of the spiderwebs?" Takumi asked.

"BEETLES!" Sayuri exclaimed as if it was obvious. Koichi facepalmed.

"There aren't any bugs in here, Sayuri." I said, trying to be helpful. "Just dead ones."

Sayuri screamed.

"You are not being helpful, Tamotsu." Takumi glared at me. "Come on, Sayuri. We don't have time." He then proceeded to shove her into the shack.

"And you call that helpful?!" I yelled, but Takumi slapped his hand over my mouth.

"Shush," was all he said.

I pushed his hand away from my face. Suddenly I couldn't see.

"What the-" Takumi's - or someone's - hand glomped my face again.

"Shush."

Suddenly I heard feet walking by, and shouting. I felt around my eyes for a blindfold, but nothing was there, and my eyes were both open. But of course...

"WHAT HAPPENED I CAN'T SEE!" Sayuri screamed.

The sound of walking stopped, and the doors flew open. But no light fell on my face. I immediately knew what was going on. Koichi was taking all the light that came into the room. I didn't know what he was doing with it, but all I knew was that he was keeping us - me, rather - from being discovered. There were only two options - absorbing the light or deflecting it. As far as I could tell, Koichi was only a full Elemental, and only Purebloods could deflect light...

Before I knew it, the whole thing was over, and the people had gone on. Even more, the thought of Koichi deflecting light was pushed far from my mind. Koichi was breathing hard, and looked exhausted. Turned out, Koichi was the one keeping me from speaking. He fell back, his hand falling to his side. The light returned to the room, and although dim, I could see Sayuri shaking. I figured she had been scared pretty bad, being in the same room as spiderwebs and "beetles" and all.

And just maybe the fact that she had been in complete darkness, buuut that probably wasn't it.

"Koichi?" Takumi removed his hand from Sayuri's mouth - turned out Koichi had been keeping me from speaking - and supported his brother. "You good?"

Koichi coughed, then answered, "Yeah. Good."

Sayuri, still scared from the "blackout" rushed over to me and grabbed hold of my arm.

"So what was that back there?" I asked.

"It was an imitation." Takumi answered simply while still sitting beside his brother, putting Koichi's arm

"Yup, cause I totally know what an imitation is." I rolled my eyes.

"An imitation is something that can take the form of anyone. Once it takes its form, though, it's stuck that wa-" Koichi broke off as he started coughing again.

"Is he okay?" Sayuri asked, now rushing to Koichi's side.

"Just a little overworked, that's all," Takumi answered, a little too quickly.

Suspicion crept into my thoughts, but instead of saying anything, I stayed silent, walking with them when Koichi was finally able to get up. I didn't trust any of them. They may have saved me, but that didn't matter. I knew they were hiding something, and I was gonna find out what.
