Just a "Dream".

Chapter 20

"This place is amazing" Niall whispers.

Behind the old house there was a little beach but not many people knew about it so it was mostly deserted. We were currently seated cross legged on the white sand watching the ocean as the waves splashed onto the shore creating a rhythm of sounds.

"Yeah.. I come here sometimes.. I just like the silence.." I mutter in response.

"So.. what's your and Addison Cole 's story?" I question as turn to look at him.

"Two years ago I met Addison. We were room-mates.." Niall reminisces.

"Room-mates?" I interrupt him.

"Yeah..He wasn't always rich.." Niall vaguely replies as I nod in response.

".. We were kind of friends you can say" he continues.

"Anyway so Addison knew that I had this massive crush on this girl who lived down the street. And I had planned out everything , I was gonna throw a Valentines party that year at this fancy venue and I was gonna ask her out that time. Everything was planned, the first date, the place, the gift I'd give her etc. Addison knew everything." Niall says as he randomly draws in the sand with a stick.

"And Addison used your ideas to get your girl.." I sigh as he simply nods.

"You know what.. we should have stayed back and done more damage" I suggest.

"And this is why I didn't tell you this story there" Niall laughs as I smile.

"What was her name?" I ask.

" Olivia" comes his reply.

A few minutes of silence pass before Niall speaks again.

"How's Jace?"

"He's good. He was asking about you yesterday. You two struck quite a friendship that day" I tease him.

"Yea he's a good kid... Actually I didn't get to say that day in the park but I'm really sorry that Jace lost his father. It must be hard for a kid to come to terms with it .." he states sorrowfully.

I look at the blonde boy with scrunched brows trying to make sense of what he's saying and then it suddenly hits me!

"Oh..no...no..no..no.. I..I think you misunderstood... Jace's father is not dead" I quickly form the words.

"No?" he looks at me blankly.

"Nope. He's not. He'e very much alive. He's name is Karl Fields. Actually Karl and my sister separated after Jace's birth. We all knew it wouldn't work out. Karl was not cut out for responsibilities of a wife and child and Natasha, she was too young. But none of us saw it coming, she just ran away one day. Then a year later she came back home with Jace along. All she said was Karl left" I explain.

Niall's mouth forms an 'O' shape and his eyes widen as he listens intently.

"I'm..so..sorry..I thought that.."Niall shakes his head.

"Never mind. It's alright" I casually respond at the reaction I'm used to seeing whenever someone hears about my sister's story.

A/n: A big fat apology from the bottom of my heart for updating after such a lonnnngggggg time.. :( but I was suffering from a serious case of Writer's block :((

So in order to make up for my absence I decided to throw some light into Niall's past & give you guys a little back story O:)
