Hermione POV
Those new students are quite the paradox, especially that Percy one.
I had definitely heard his name at least once before but I can't quite seem to place where and when. And also how.
When the sorting ends, the new students return.
Without my noticing, the food appears as the gears in my mind work and work trying to grasp a memory I can't reach.
I'm jolted out of my trance when Harry nudges me 'Aren't you gonna eat 'Mione?'
'Oh yes, of course'
I reach for some chicken and dump iron my plate, glancing at Ron who's already gulped down almost half of his large platter.
Rolling my eyes I glance back over at the new students, who I could possibly call my friends.
Percy looks thoroughly offended while on the opposite side of the table, the Thalia girl is just looking smug with a smirk on her face.
I wonder what made him so mad, I think to myself.
I take a bite of my chicken and look at the other houses.
The Hufflepuff table is lively as ever and I spot the Emily and Amelia girls laughing away at something Olivia Maher the second year said.
The Ravenclaw table is never disappointing with of course Luna being her usual Luna self, then the Nieve and Aurelia girls chatting away with the cousins Jack O'Neil, Nick O'Neil and Chloe Wall.
The Slytherin table being their usual selves, something different however.
Draco Malfoy, instead of being his usual snarky mean person, he has his head ducked down in little guilt and shame, his eyes slightly broken.
I diverted my eyes back to Ron and Harry to see them gaping in slight horror.
I tilt my head in confusion then turn to my other side.
Thalia had thrown a dinner knife at Percy.
Percy's hand was running with blood and I looked up, expecting a face of anger and hurt but I was instead met with a smirk of surprise mostly but the glint of his ocean eyes shone with retaliation.
But...he's bleeding and...he doesn't care?, I think to myself, you are one strange one Percy Jackson.
