Ginny POV
After Draco arrives, I excuse myself and quietly slip out, almost accidentally bumping into a Hufflepuff first year on the way.
I hurriedly make my way back to the Gryffindor common room, my feet carrying me quickly and my back hunched slightly to make myself appear smaller.
Announcing the password to the Fat Lady, I rush up to my bed, before closing the scarlet curtains around it and digging my hands into my pockets.
Pulling out a crumpled piece of paper, I stretch my hearing to see if anyone is near. There isn't. So I slowly unfold the paper.
It's old and dirty and ripped, cutting off lots of words. And for the 16th time, I reread the note.
"Not long at all."
I don't know who or what put it there, and it sends chills and shivers down my spine.
Then a vague memory hits my brain, of a black book that would talk with me.
My eyes widen and I put down the paper on my sheets, staring at them trying to see if it'll do anything, something, but nothing happens and my suspicions die down.
Maybe it is just a normal note, I think to myself trying to believe it, it's got nothing to do with Luna or anything bad, it's just a note that a second year accidentally dropped and I happened to come across it. Everything's fine.
"Ginny!?"
I snap my head up and push open the curtains to see Hermione.
"Oh Hermione, what's going on?"
"You have Quidditch practice in about fifteen minutes, I just thought I might tell you." She sits down next to me on the four poster bed and I discreetly tuck the note into my robes pocket and fiddle with my wand.
"Thanks 'Mione." I give her my best smile, no matter how exhausted I am already.
She places her hand on my shoulder and gives me an understanding smile, before standing up and sliding out the door. But she could never feel what I'm feeling now.
Luna wasn't waking up, still asleep and unconscious. It pained me to see my best friend that way.
Sighing, I get up and hurry to the Quidditch changing room.
Once I finish changing, I grab my broomstick and look around trying to spot a head of black messy hair.
It doesn't take long for me to find Harry. He's telling the team our strategy for us to practice. I saint for him to be done before I walk over and stand next to him.
"Hey Gin." He smiles at me and I give him a peck on the cheek, skimming the whiteboard with my eyes for a second before kicking off and flying up into the air.
It's a beautiful day. The sun is shining its golden rays, the sky is an almost fake looking azure, the breeze carries the freshness through the air and the clouds look painted.
Needless to say, it's a gorgeous day for Quidditch, even if it's just a practice.
I fly laps around the pitch for a little while, trying to beat my record, then I fly down to the center ready to score some goals.
"GINNY WATCH OUT!"
I turn around, far too late, being knocked off my broom by what I guess is a bludger.
The last thing I remember is seeing these golden eyes.
