*****I've decided to make Eric older he is now 12. I'll also now write from his pov***********
I awoke to the sound of my alarm clock. I sat up and looked around at my room, hating everything I saw. I quickly got in the shower, then changed.
"Ready, champ" my dad said.
"Yeah" I said very nonchalant. We got in the car and headed toward the mall to go school shopping. I dreaded having to shop in the boy's section. Luckily my dad dropped me off with money and went to do his own thing so I could shop in whatever section I wanted.
I felt awkward in the girl's section like people were staring. I turned and noticed that someone was. An asian girl with a pixie cut approached me.
"I'm looking for my girlfriend" I blurted out.
"Ok..... well if you need any help looking for clothes for your girlfriend, I'd be willing to help"
"I'm not looking for my girlfriend" I admitted. "I'm looking for myself"
" I didn't think so..."
"How about this" she said pointing at a blue blouse.
"I'm not sure..." I said nervously.
"Why don't you go try it on with..... these jeans".
With the clothes in my arms I headed towards the dressing room. I had to admit I looked good.
I ran out and hugged the girl.
"So, are you transgender" she asked.
I had heard of the word but didn't know what it meant.
"What does that mean?"
"It means you don't feel like the gender you were born as"
I nodded and started to cry.
"I'm trans too"
"You feel like a boy?"
"Sometimes...I'm genderfluid sometimes I'm a boy and sometimes I'm a girl. Sometimes I'm both or neither"
"What are you now"
"A girl"
"What should I call you" I said wiping tears off my face.
"Sam"
We picked out more feminine clothes and my father came to pick me up. I was so scared to see how my mother would react to my clothes.
