'What if they don't like me?' Joe asked for the hundredth time.

I was going to vist my parents and I was taking Joe with me because they had never met him before.

'Joe how many times do I have to tell you they will love you.' I told him getting in the car. I started the engine and pulled off the drive.

'I really hope so.' Joe said.

'Put it this way, if they don't it won't stop me loving you to death.' I said stopping at the red light.

After the long three hour drive we finally made it to my parents house. I stopped the car and we got out. Joe knock on the door before straightening his shirt.

'You look fine.' I told him. My mum answered the door and pulled us into a hug before letting us in.

'Your father's downstairs working. You'll see him in five minutes when we have dinner.' Mum said walking towards the kitchen.

'See everything's fine.' I said before sitting at the table in the dining room. Within five minutes dinner was on the table and mum had called dad to dinner.

'Ugh who's this.' Dad said as he entered the room.

Joe stood up and held out his hand 'I'm Joe, Mr y/last/n'

Dad walked past him and sat at the table. 'My daughter comes to visit and we have to eat with this' Dad said looking Joe up and down.

'Dad, Joe is my boyfriend please be polite.' I said looking at Joe.

'I will do what I want in my house young lady.' Dad said raising his voice. I put down my knife and fork before standing up.

'Joe get your stuff we're leaving now.' I said walking out of the room. I put my shoes on and went back to the car.

'It's already eight let's book a hotel and go back up in the morning.' I told Joe.

'Thank you y/n. I love you. Joe said before kissing me.

'I love you too.' I said starting the car.

I thought my parents would be happy for me, I guess I was wrong.

Shout out to my friend Tess who came up with the idea.
