He Cheats

I picked up my bag and turned to face Joe.

"Zoe's here. I'll see you tomorrow evening. Have fun."

I heard a faint bye as I shut the door behind me. I needed this sleepover with Zoe just as much as Joe needed to go out and have fun with Alfie. Lately Joe has been distant and never seems to be home so we decided to have a small break over the weekend to have fun.

I opened the door to Zoe's car to be greated by her grinning at me. "Ready." She squeald unable to control her excitment.

"Yes." I laughed before placing my bag in the seats behind us.

Zoe let out another squeal before greabbed hold of the stearing wheel and driving off.

I grabbed the popcorn out of the cupboard before taking it though for Zoe.

"Thank you." She sung before opening it and putting it into the bowl which was in my hand.

"I really want some crisps but we don't have any." Zoe said looking disapointed.

"I have some back at my place I'll go grab them." I said getting up.

"No you don't have to." Zoe said breifly looking at me before looking back at the television.

"It's fine. It's only down the road, which is closer than the nearest shop open at this time. Puls I want crisps to." I said picking up my jacket which was slung over a chair.

"Fine but at least take my car," Zoe said as I exited the room, "the keys are in the bowl."

"Okay." I called back before grabbing the keys and heading outside. As I stepped outside I was hit by the cold nights air. I wrapped my jacket around myself and hugged it to keep it in place.

I unlocked Zoe's car, got into it, turned it on and then turned on the heating. I put on my seat belt before starting my five minute drive down the road.

I got out of the car before locking it and heading towards the house as the cold air ungolfed me once again.

I reached the front door and pulled my keys out from my pocket and put them in the door. I stepped inside to see the lights were already on.

Joe must have left them on I thought to myself before heading towards the kitchen. I opened the cupboard to see the crisps I had came to get. I shut the cupboard and just befoe heading back outside I saw that he had also left the upstairs light on.

It wasn't like him to forget to turn off the lights, he always double checked before leaving the house. Maybe he was in a hurry I mean its not like some guy is going to turn all the lights on if he was robbing a house.

I put the crisps down on the table before heading upstairs to turn off the light. When I reached the top of the stairs I heard movement from mine and Joe's bedroom. Joe must have came home early. I know we said no seeing each other before tomorrow afternoon but it won't matter if I just said goodnight would it?

I opened the door to see Joe like I expected. What I didn't expect to see was a tall skinny blonde kiss him.

My jaw dropped and I couldn't help but watch in horror. The thought had popped into my head that he had been cheating like it does with any couple when the become distant. The only difference is unlike most couples my other half was cheating and I was watching it happen before my very eyes.

I quickly left the bedroom before slamming the door behind me. I ran downstairs, grabbed the crisps and left the house.

I unlocked the car and as I was about to get in the car I heard Joe call my name. I got in the car and started the engine as well as putting on my belt. As he ran towards the car I began to drive off.

"y/n please. I LOVE YOU." I heard him shout before rounding the corner. Those three words hit me like a dagger. One minute he was kissing some other girl on the verge of sleeping with her and the next he says he loves me.

I wiped away the tears which ran down my cheeks but they wouldn't stop no matter how many times I wiped them away. Why? Why did he have to? Doesn't he love me anymore? All these questions ran through my head but non of them I could answer.

I needed to get back to Zoe's. Fast.
