CHAPTER SEVEN: currents

▀▄▀▄▀▄The Hunter's honor ▄▀▄▀▄▀

EREBUS ARGENT HAD BEEN WORRIED ABOUT HIS UNCLE AND COUSIN. Given the circumstances, he had to protect them. Chris hadn't wanted either Erebus or Allison to help with anything supernatural related.

Erebus was still making bullets, arrow heads, sharpening his knives, all unknown to Chris. Or Allison.  He couldn't have either of them discovering what he planned to do. That he would get rid of the threat that the Alpha pack posses to his family and friends, even if it caused him his own life.

Erebus has thought it would be easier to take on one of the twins, given that they attended the same school as him.  It proved to be more difficult, since Lydia decided to hook up with one of them, spending whatever time they weren't in class, trying to inhale each other. Erebus swore he'd rather be on that hunt at six years old again, ever his mother used him as bait.

And, the other twin was dating Danny. Danny was one of Scott's friends, also one of the only people who didn't call Erebus a psycho or treated him like a kid. So, Erebus didn't think he deserved to be traumatized by watching his boyfriend be beheaded.

But, then Erebus discovers, by Scott, that Danny was in the hospital.  And, apparently, Scott knew Erebus better than Allison, because he immediately took down the hall, searching for him. Scott followed the sound of Erebus's footsteps, the tiny knife in his boot only making a slightly different sound when that foot hit the ground. Scott pulled Erebus away, and dragged him into that car.

They had returned back to their house, the Argent house. Apparently, Allison also wasn't listening to her father's orders of staying out of it.

"So I was liking through one of his drawers," Allison speaks, as they enter Allison's room. "And I found this."

But, all heads turn at the small sound, of a ding.

"He wasn't supposed to be back yet," Allison says, frozen for a moment.

"Hide," Erebus immediately says.

"What do I do! Where do I go?" Scott panicked.

"I just said hide," Erebus says, just as Allison begins to pull Scott into the closet.

Erebus had crawled under the bed. Waiting for the sound of the for the signal to leave. Even if he did hear the door close, Scott would be able to tell if Chris actually left. Erebus wouldn't leave until they did.

But a few seconds after the door closed, Allison and Scott got out of the closet. "Erebus?" Allison whispered.

"Under the bed," Scott replied, lowly.

Erebus crawled out from under the bed, immediately standing up. The three carefully snuck into Chris's office. Scott closed the door behind them, as the cousin walked over to the desk.

"See this map?" Allison points to the large map in the desk.

"No." Erebus sarcastically speaks. "It's too small. My eye sight's not that good."

"Maybe you should stop hanging around Stiles. So much," Scott says, amused.

"Okay, listen, both of you," Allison says. "Last time we were in here talking, my dad put a book over it. There was something about the way he did it. It was like-it was like he was trying to cover it."

"I don't see anything," Scott says, examining the map closely.

"Well, if he doesn't want us to hunt anymore," Erebus says. "You need to use this." He holds up the blue light, something he had gotten his uncle. "He's been tracking and marking everything."

The light revealed the red marks, all around the map.

"Cora, and Boyd at the bank," Allison speaks lowly. "The office in the penthouse above us, all of the dead bodies. He has a symbol for where someone was taken," that was a circle. "And then a different mark for where the bodies were found." That was a mix between an ex and circle, the X overlapping the circle. Like, when looking through a sniper. "Now, here's the scary part-- there have been six sacrifices, right? There are twelve markings on the map."

"What? What does that mean? Did your dad find the other bodies and not tell anyone?"  Scott questioned Allison.

"No," Erebus answered. "He's marking where the body is going to be found.  And, one of these six locations we will find Deaton. I mean, it doesn't tell us where he's being kept right now, but..."

"But it's close to figuring it out." Scott says.

"Yeah."

The elevators rings.

Allison and Erebus had rushed to Allison's room, seating on her bed, and laying out some homework. Scott hide in the other room. Allison started to pull apart the pack of twizzlers, making sure to be loud with it. Erebus purposely dropped the textbook. The door opened a second after, Chris looking in to find his daughter and nephew.

"Hey. I, uh, I didn't hear you come in." Chris tells the two.

Allison smiled, innocently. "Yeah, we were just doing some homework."

Chris leaves, closing the door behind him.
