"It's wasn't Scott, it was me. Me," Erebus Argent, once again, mocked. He laughed when seeing the embarrassment on his cousin's face. "That was the funniest thing ever! Seriously, it made my week! Year even!"

"You are an evil, evil, boy," Allison tells her cousin as she begins to gather her backpack.

"Uncle Chris looked like he wanted to kill himself on the spot!" He continued to laugh.

"Shouldn't you be asleep? Didn't you always sleep in late? Why are you wake the early? To torment me?"

"You're just an added bonus, I planned to torment uncle Chris."

There was a knocking at her door, in walking Kate, immediately, Erebus's playful demeanor changed.

"Hey," Kate says. "Yeah...listen, you know I feel totally horrible about my behavior the other night, right?"

"Oh, totally forgotten," Allison dismissed.

"No, not forgotten by me. Come on. Call me a horrid bitch or something."

"You were just being protective."

"I was being a protective horrid bitch who is giving you your birthday present early so you'll forgive her." Kate handed her the small box.

Allison gasped upon opening it.

"Forgiven?" Kate asked.

"Completely. I love it."

"It's a family heirloom. And you know me, I hate and loathe all sentimental crap. But that, well, look at the symbol in the middle of the pendant. See that?"

"Yeah."

Erebus says on the bed, awkward now. Maybe he should have left the room.

"You ever wanna learn a little something about your family?  look it up."

"You're gonna make me work for it."

"Some mysteries are worth the effort," Kate  put the necklace over Allison's head.

"Ere," Allison called out, reaching down and pulling her cousin's hand as she walked out of the room.
