5: Only Just A Dream

*Ross's POV*

"Ross." I heard Ellington's voice. I simply rolled over and put my pillow over my head.

"Ross." Ellington repeated.

"Whaaat?" I moved my pillow and opened my eyes. He was holding something that I thought no one would ever find.

"No. No no no. Where did you find that?" I asked and tried to take the book from him.

"No, Ross. Don't try to take it back. It's too late. I've read it." He said and I bit my bottom lip.

"Hold up. Where's Kendall?" I questioned, trying to change the subject.

"Who?" Ellington questioned.

"Kendall. My brother. Or.. James. Whatever you want to call him." I said and he glanced behind him then looked at me before brushing some of my hair out of my face.

"Man, that wreck really did some damage or something. You don't have a brother named Kendall or James. Just Riker, Ryland, and Rocky. And of course your sister is Rydel." Ellington said and I looked at him.

"Wait... What? Rocky is my brother? So.. He doesn't.. Like me?" I asked and he shook his head a bit.

"Of course he's your brother, Ross." Ellington then started gently rubbing his thumb over my arm a bit, resulting in a sharp pain shooting through my arm, and I flinched. "Sorry." He whispered softly.

"Oh. But, you and I were never-"

"We weren't ever together, Ross. You were crazy for a while after Rydel and I had that wreck a couple years ago, but that's over with. But, I just thought I'd let you know that Rydel and I aren't together anymore." Ellington said and I tried to sit up, but I was too weak.

"Wait.. Am I in a hospital?" I questioned and looked down at my arms which had iv's and machines in it, and I also realized I had a breathing machine thing on.

"Yes, you are, Ross. You and Riker had a huge fight, and you got mad and tried to drive away, but you couldn't concentrate on the road, and you steered off the road and crashed into a tree. It was a pretty bad wreck." He pushed some of my hair back again after it fell in my face.

"Oh." I said and sighed a bit. "Do I have one of those breathing things on?" I asked and he nodded.

"Yeah."

"Do I look like Hazel Grace?" I joked and he laughed softly.

"You look cuter than Hazel Grace." He answered and I looked into his eyes and frowned.

"I thought you and Rydel were happy together." I said and he bit his lip.

"You just said it yourself. Were." He said.

"What happened?" I asked.

"It just wasn't meant to be, I guess. We both started to um.. See other people." He explained.

"Oh." I looked down and he gently put his finger under my chin and lifted my head up so I could look at him.

"It's you, Ross." He whispered.

"What's me..?"

"You.. You're the one that I love." He said and I weakly smiled.

"Cuddle with me?" I said and he shook his head.

"I can't get in the hospital bed with you." He said and I frowned.

"Okay.."
