chapter 9

Sakura's pov

It was the next day and i was in my room, getting ready to grab some lunch with Naruto. I've always love it whenever Naruto wants to treat me lunch/dinner because every time he would be so kind and so sweet. I remember just few months ago, he took me to a fancy restaurant on our anniversary of when we first became best friends. Funny because it felt like as if we were dating.

Anyway, it was nice of Naruto to do that. And after every time he treat me meal, i would give something to thank him back.

Combing my long pink hair, i curled it at the ends. I was wearing a red sweatshirt and black skirt that flows above my knee. Since Naruto said we won't be going to a fancy restaurant, i just wear my pink converse. I bet he wants to take me to eat fast food. No complain there because i love fast foods.

I walked down the stairs and found my mom sitting on the kitchen table, eating. I smile at her and gave her a hug. She had a big smile on.

"Oh dear, you look so pretty in that skirt i bought for you. It makes your legs looked longer" mom said.

I grinned and nodded, "thank you, mom. I love it"

My mom was getting better day by day. Of course, she's sad about her husband but there's nothing we can do, right? Whatever happens, happens.

I said goodbye to my mom and walked out to my house. I was suprised when Naruto was already infront of my house. He was grinning and waving at me and i return a smile.

"Hey Naruto, where are we going?" I asked as im approached him.

"Burger King"

I laughed when Naruto was telling a really funny joke. It was so funny, my stomach hurts from laughing so hard.

"O-Okay Naruto! Ahah s-stop!" I laughed and tried to catch my breath. Eventually, he stop and i sighed in relief.

I took a fries and threw it in my mouth. Burger King has always been my fav place to eat fast food. Other than that; McDonalds.

We ate in silent and i decided to ask him. "Were you with... Sasuke yesterday? You know, after school" i asked.

I saw Naruto froze and he flinched. That's when i knew he was hiding something. Naruto gulped and scratch the back of his head.

"Well... um.... well I uh... I-" Naruto paused and sighed, "we were just... talking"

"About what?" I was eager to know.

"Just talking... about the old times" he replied and sip on his milkshake. He looked away from me and pretended to be interested in something else.

I know he won't answer more of my questions so i just drop the subject.

"Okay... so um.. Naruto, i heard there's a small carnival down the street. Wanna check it out?" I asked. He grinned and nodded happily

"Let's go!"

"Let's ride that merry-go-round!" I squealed while holding Naruto's hand, me dragging him actually. He frowned and tried to run from my grasp but failed.

"Sakura-chan, you know i hate this kind of ride. They're for kids!" He pouted like a child and i giggled. I think he fits this ride when he's pouting like a child.

"Oh come on! It'll be fun!" I said. But before he could protest, i pulled his hand and we enter the ride.

Naruto's pov

Merry-go-round are for kids, right? I mean, why do some adults ride on it. This merry-go-round literally is going around in circle. You can get a headache after riding this.

i had no choice when sakura practically dragged me here.

I chose an orange horse and sat on it. Sakura was beside me, sitting on a pink horse. I swear, she can be childish sometimes. Well, i can also be childish sometime too.

The ride began to spin slowly and slowly began to spin fast. I was frowning because my head begin to hurt. I felt a little bit dizzy.

I heard Sakura squealing and i turned to look at her. She was giggling with her hands up in the air. Her hair flew back and her smile was as big as ever. She looked happy.

My lips automatically smile. She look so beautiful. I stared at her and starting to forget that my head is dizzy. She giggled again at how fast was this merry-go-round was going. She wave at some kids outside the ride with a grin on her face.

I was distracted by her beauty that i didn't realized that the ride had stopped.

"That was actually fun, right Naruto?" sakura asked, fixing her hair.

I shook my head, "No, it was not. Again, those rides are for kids" i said. Sakura chuckled and suddenly put her hand around my left shoulder to my right shoulder with her right arm. I stiffened a bit and blushed. Her side of her body was too close to mine.

"Whatever! Now, let's go get some ice-cream shall we?" She asked. My face immediately lit up when she said ice-cream.

"Yes! Let's go!" I said and we ran to get some ice-cream. Both me and sakura love ice-creams.

"Thank you so much for today, Naruto. I had fun" sakura said. We were standing infront of her house. The sun is going down as it is almost 6.30pm.

"No problem, sakura. I'll pick you up tomorrow for school, okay?" I said.

"As usual, Naruto" she chuckled. My body flinched when Sakura kissed my cheek. I felt butterflies on my stomach. Sakura always give me a kiss on the cheek because it's a repay from her to me for bringing her out. It's because she doesn't know how to repay me so i told her to just give me a kiss on the cheek. It's been a year since i told her that.

"Again, thanks Naruto. You're the best. See ya!" she said, and i said goodbye to her and left. I had so much fun today. It was better than before.
