Halle's POV:
We climbed into the car.
I told the chauffeur my address, and began driving.
Sophia and I just talked while we were in the car.
After about 20 minutes, we arrived at my...house.
My mom was outside, a little angry.
I waved goodbye to Sophia, got out of the car, and ran to my mom.
"Hi Mo-"
She tugged my wrist, and forced me into the house.
"Annalisa! I told you to come home soon! Your father just came back from the bar, and he doesn't seem very happy!" she yelled.
Oh no.
Dad returned to his drinking.
As I walked into the kitchen, I noticed a drunk man on the table, sleeping.
I walked back, and stepped on a bag of chips.
CRUNCH!
I closed my eyes.
"Who's-who's there?"
I was so close!
"Annalisa?! Where have you been?!"
I look down.
"At a friend's house, Robert!" I reply.
I hear a chuckle.
Dad grabs my hair.
"You gonna be a brave girl? Are you gonna speak back to me!"
I fought back the tears that were scratching at my eyes.
"Whatever."
He let's me go.
"Good girl. Now call me Dad, because even if you like it or not, I'm your father."
I rolled my eyes.
"Yes......Robert." I muttered under my breath.
I looked up, and received an unexpected slap.
I ran to my room, and saw a glimpse of my mother looking out the door.
I slammed my door and closed it.
Why me!
Why did I have to suffer!
And....why didn't my mother defend me?
I laid on my bed and cried, letting all my feelings out.
Every year, since my dad would get into problems with rich, snobby guys for borrowing money we could never return, we had to move.
I was pretty sure we would have to move in he summer.
Mom had to work, while Dad spent his money on his alcohol addiction.
I looked at my reflection.
I had a red hand mark copied unto my cheek.
This was one of the reasons Mom didn't want to have a baby.
"Dad" thought kids were a waste of time, food, and money.
I looked out my small window, and saw a shooting star fly by like a paintbrush on a canvas.
I wish that I had a better life.
