Chapter 1

NOTE: This has been recently edited. Nothing major, but if you read this before August 22nd, it will be a little different. (:

"Where r u? Scene 17 starts in 5 min!"

A text from my boss/director read. Great. The last thing I needed was for Dave to be complaining about how I was always late. I was trying to be nice, alright? I had about 100 lattes piled into the trunk of my car for all the crew who showed up today. It was my little treat, and here my boss is complaining... That's the last time I do something nice for them.

I screeched to a stop as a green light turns straight to red. My sunglasses fumble off my face, and I scramble around to find them. If the cars around me find out I'm the famous Amber Lee, I'll never get to work on time.

The honking noises from behind me told me that the red light turned back to green. 'Sheesh people! Calm down! I have somewhere to be, too!' I think to myself as I slip my glasses on and push down on the gas pedal. My 2010 Toyota Camry lurches forward.

I drive grumpily through town, finally arriving at the studio. Carefully maneuvering my car into the private parking where all the celebrities park, I tell the attendee at the entrance to send someone out to my car to get the coffees. When I park, a man is standing to meet me. I grab my bag and tell him to get the coffees to studio 9, where we are shooting.

We are shooting some romance movie about zombies. Pretty pathetic right? Today's the day where my 'love' leaves me for the zombies, supposedly to save me. But in the end, he gets turned into a stupid zombie too, and I have to kill him. The actor whom I will be gladly killing is Justin McKinnley. The all time favorite pop star sensation. To be honest, he's a complete jerk. He whines, argues, and complains about pretty much everything on the set. Lucky me, right?

I walk in the side doors to find the set looking completely messed up. It's in remodeling form? I'm positive that we're filming today! I walk over to a familiar looking janitor and ask where everybody went.

"You're filming at the old hospital today, didn't they tell you?" she replies hesitantly.

"I knew that..." I say as I bolt out the doors. Forget the coffee... Of course! I knew I'd missed something important when I zoned out of the meeting last Thursday.

.....

"Where were you?!?" My agent, Maddy, pretty much screams into my ears. "You went to the meeting when Dave announced that we were shooting here!" her brown hair was pulled back into a ponytail today. She must be mad. You could always tell Maddy's mood from the way her hair was styled.

"I know..." I mumbled.

The makeup artist was quickly doing my hair. She was one of those people who you'd call a biker, with tattooed arms all the way up to her shoulders, heavy makeup, and no fat on her body whatsoever. I wondered why Dave had hired her. He didn't normally go for that type.

After my makeup was done, Dave ushered me to the room that they were filming in. Justin was standing perfectly in place, looking annoyed. If looks could kill, I'd definitely be dead by the look he just gave me. I went over my lines in my head just in time to hear Dave yell action.

"Lauren, we're trapped. If we don't do something quickly, the zombies will come in here and we'll both die. I'm going out there. Just know that I'll always love you." Justin said flawlessly in his great acting voice.

"No Zack! Don't go! Don't leave me here to fend off the zombies alone! Please!" I cried, wanting to vomit.

"I'm sorry Lauren. It's the only way," he murmured into my ear. He went to the window, gave me one last look, and jumped.
