Seokjin's fingers interlaced as he leaned forward, voice low but carrying the weight of something irreversible.
"It's Jaehyuk."
The name sliced through the air like a knife.
Taehyung, sitting beside Jungkook, barely shifted, but he stole a quick glance at him.
For a moment, nothing changed in Jungkook's face. His dark eyes remained cold, unmoving, his lips set in an unreadable line, his face remained impassive-calm, controlled, unreadable.
But Taehyung saw the slight tension in Jungkook's jaw, the way his fingers curled slightly before relaxing. He saw the flicker of something-surprise, hesitation, maybe even resentment.
Jungkook hadn't expected this.
He had left that part of his past behind, cut himself off from the remnants of his so-called family's existence. He had no desire to be tangled in their affairs ever again.
Seokjin hesitated before continuing, carefully observing Jungkook's reaction.
"After losing a significant amount of money in failed business ventures, Jaehyuk found himself drowning in debt. Desperate, he turned to drug smuggling and, from what we've gathered, even human trafficking."
The tension in the room deepened. A shadow passed over Jungkook's features, but he remained silent.
Seokjin cleared his throat, his voice lowering. "There's more. Jaehyuk knows he can't stand against the Jeon Clan alone. He's been reaching out to the Russian mafia, hoping to secure their backing before we move against him."
A muscle in Jungkook's jaw twitched. He was still silent, but Taehyung could feel the shift in his presence.
Jungkook didn't move, didn't speak. His eyes remained trained on the floor, unreadable pools of darkness, absorbing every word.
Seokjin pressed on. "His father isn't directly involved. But considering how much he knows about his son's actions, it's unlikely he's ignorant. He's simply chosen to stay silent."
Hyunshik turned his sharp gaze to Jungkook. "What do you want us to do?"
Taehyung shifted, his movements slow, deliberate. His hand found Jungkook's, fingers pressing lightly against his skin. A silent anchor.
It was a subtle gesture, one no one else would notice-one meant only for Jungkook. Taehyung wasn't asking him to reconsider. He wasn't telling him to hold back. He was simply grounding him, reminding him that whatever choice he made, he wasn't alone.
Jungkook inhaled slowly, then lifted his gaze. When he spoke, his voice was calm, deliberate, ice-cold.
"There's nothing to think about," His words cut through the air like a blade.
"Jaehyuk has broken the rules of my territory. He has to be punished. No exceptions." He leaned forward slightly, his presence suffocating. "And he will regret it."
His next words sent a chill through the room.
"No one goes against the Jeon clan." His tone was final. "The moment they dare to raise their head, they must be destroyed."
A smirk ghosted across Hyunshik's lips, as if he had already known this would be Jungkook's answer. Seokjin gave a slow nod, as if bracing himself for what was to come.
But only Taehyung knew the truth beneath Jungkook's cold resolve. He felt it in the way Jungkook's hand tensed beneath his, the way his breathing subtly changed.
Jungkook wasn't just delivering judgment-he was severing the last tie to a past he had long abandoned.
So, Taehyung held on tighter.
