Three months later, the storm had finally passed.
The shadows that once loomed over them had finally begun to recede. Life had settled into something beautiful, something real.
In the golden haze of late spring, Jungkook and Taehyung found themselves surrounded by quiet moments of bliss, far from the chaos of blackmail, violence, and heartache.
Their days had softened. Their nights were filled with warmth. They found solace in their new life—quiet, domestic, and filled with moments they once thought they'd never be able to have.
At the center of their world was Arin, now ten months old, the heartbeat of their small family.
Her giggles rang through the sunlit penthouse, echoing off the walls like bells of joy. She sat propped up in a mountain of cushions on the living room floor, flailing her chubby arms as Taehyung held up her favorite plush bunny.
“Arin-ah,” Taehyung cooed, bouncing the toy. “Look who’s here to play!”
Arin squealed, drooling as she reached out and clumsily tried to grab the bunny, her tiny fingers fumbling over its ears.
Taehyung chuckled, letting her win, and leaned in to kiss her soft forehead. Her eyes, big and curious, sparkled in the morning light.
Jungkook watched from the kitchen, leaning against the doorway with a warm smile on his lips. He held a bottle of milk in one hand and wiped his arm across his face, still in his sleep shirt and joggers.
His heart softened at the sight- Taehyung laughing, Arin babbling.
“I swear she’s got you wrapped around her finger,” Jungkook murmured as he walked over, handing the bottle to Taehyung.
Taehyung accepted it with a mock-sigh. “She’s a Jeon after all.”
Arin giggled at the bunny again, tugging at its tiny ears. Jungkook set down the bottle and came over, kneeling beside them. He pressed a kiss to Taehyung's forehead.
They settled on the floor together, Taehyung cradling Arin as she drank from the bottle, her eyes fluttering half-closed in contentment.
“She’s got your mischief,” Jungkook murmured.
“And your stubbornness,” Taehyung added.
Jungkook laughed, wrapping an arm around both of them, their little family a cocoon of warmth in the peaceful morning.
But outside the comfort of their sanctuary, the country held its breath.
And then, the day finally came.
It was the election day.
The office at Jeon Empire headquarters buzzed with nervous energy.
Phones rang nonstop. Staff bustled in and out, eyes darting toward screens flashing polling updates.
Taehyung and Jungkook sat side by side at the large conference table, the atmosphere tense.
Hyunshik’s face flashed on every major news channel. It was down to the wire.
The weight of the country’s attention sat heavy on their shoulders.
Jungkook drummed his fingers against the table, the seconds stretching into an unbearable silence.
“I swear, if I refresh the feed one more time, my thumbs are going to fall off,” he muttered.
Taehyung, ever the calmer of the two, gently nudged his leg. “Give it a minute.”
