"I'm sorry. I just don't remember." You said, exasperated. He ran his hand through his hair. "I'm sorry." You apologized.
"Its fine." He put the picture on the stand next to the hospital bed.
"Ni, come on. The boys are going to get something to eat. I'll watch her." The boy with brown hair, Louis, popped his head in. He sighed again.
"Won't you be hungry?" He asked.
"I already ate. Come on mate." He had already pulled out a chair.
"Alright. See you later." He kissed my cheek as you twisted the engagement ring on your fourth finger. You still didn't know how you had fallen for him. He didn't seen like the type you would go for.
You two sat in silence as he left. "You ok?" He asked.
"No. I just can't remember. I have no family. I'm all alone." You sighed and looked out the window.
"That's not true." He squeezed your hand. You looked into his eyes.
"You have a great guy."
"I'm not sure I ever loved him. He doesn't seem like my type. I just-I don't feel it." You said.
"I know the way you two looked at each other." He said.
"Yeah. But I think I'm ready for a something a little different." You whispered, leaning in. Him and you had had your moments, but this confirmed them. He didn't try to pull away, he kissed back with more passion than Niall ever had.
" 'Tween you and me." He asked in a breathy whisper.
"Yeah." You say leaning in for more.
And that's how it went for a few weeks. You and Niall became distant, and you continued to go behind Niall's back and go out with him. You felt terrible, but you couldn't bring yourself to break up with him.
"Louis, he's gone. Chill out." You told him.
"Ok...." He said nervously. He leaned for a kiss, when the front door opened. You were about to pull away, but it was to late.
"Lou! What are you doing?!"
"Dude, chill." He desperately tried to calm him down, but he still raged on.
"I thought you loved me!" He yelled.
"Niall, I did. But I can't remember our life before. I just don't know anymore." I sighed. "But I think I like Louis." He sighed and put his head against the wall. "I'm sorry." You tried to rub his back, but as soon as they came in contact, he said,
"Just get out." Your fingers recoiled slowly and you stood frozen.
"Lets give him some time, (Y/N)." Louis took your hand and pulled you out.
"I feel horrible." You rubbed your temple. He squeezed your hand.
"He'll get over it." But you didn't believe him.
After a few days at Louis's, you felt it was safe to go get your stuff. You softly knocked on the door. You saw Niall at the door. He sighed and let you in without a word. He resumed his football game, and you walked to the room you once shared. You found all of your stuff in boxes. You began to load them in the car without any help from Niall. But that didn't matter you didn't want his help.
*******
Months passed, and Louis asked you to marry him. You got married on May 12, 2016. One day, while cleaning out the basement, you came upon one of the boxes You never unpacked. 'Niall and (Y/N) Memory Tapes' was scribbled across the front. You opened it and put in a dvd labeled 'Best of Memories' you sat holding the remote, mesmerized by the different jokes you made, the restaurants. It wasn't until a new tape of you and him appeared. He looked very nervous as you sat under the stars by trees decorated with lights, on a romantic picnic on a cliff overlooking the city. "That was the night he proposed!" You let the remote drop from your hands as you remembered. It finally happened! "I remember." You whispered as tears rolled down your cheeks. "I love him
